did you know it's a theory that the universe is actually the only completely transparent thing in existence unless if you believe in other universes, meaning that the dark empty void is the space the universe is constantly expanding into and filling. Another theory is that since the universe is constantly expanding the fit new galaxies, stars and other giant space forms have a lot of gravity due to their mass and size and constantly pushes against the gaps and empty space inside of the universe- the giant space forms, though having a lot of gravity, isn't enough to compete against the no gravity void and is pushed towards another star or giant space form and create a shockwave that expands the universe and pushes giant space forms either towards other giant space forms and create a new shockwave or slow down and redo the cycle of competing and losing against the gaps in the universe. for that theory, the reason the solar system and the planets and the sun in it haven't been effected by this is either A. it's too slow for us to notice so far, or B. the void spreads the no gravity around the solar system due to the sun's magnetic field another theory is that the universe is kind of like a balloon on Earth, when it fills up, it takes up about 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001% of the Earth's air and surface area, the universe is like a balloon, it expands into the space outside, with other universes possibly inside of the space outside as well, doing the exact same thing.
