Deltarune: Synthesis is an AU idea I had where... Well... You just sorta have to click through the ideas to figure it out for yourself. Scroll down once you get the gist of it. Flowey is NOT ASRIEL here. He is made of the player's SOUL and piles of Asgore's dirt. I bet you thought I was gonna say "Asriel's Dust", didn'tcha? Kris did not intentionally do this. They just wanted to bury the SOUL to keep it away from them. They found a shovel near their dad's truck and buried it there. The flower seeds just fell via the wind. Flowey is the player's vessel in this AU. He has all the powers of his UT counterpart, plus having all the powers of the SOUL. He is fully compliant. Flowey's gender is NOT up to the player's interpretation. Just because he's your vessel doesn't mean he's you. Flowey has the SOUL. It's just been merged with him. Flowey looks nigh-identical to his UT counterpart, the only difference being that this Flowey is less wilted due to growing in full sunlight, not hole sunlight. If Flowey somehow opened a portal and met UT Flowey, they'd be entirely different entities, and probably have some fun murdery shenanigans with each other. It wouldn't be canon to either story in the slightest, but where's the fun in that? Flowey's motifs are exactly the same as UT, the only difference being that one, his theme would probably be a remix, and two, no Asriel themes anywhere. Flowey is canonically your best friend. The name of this AU is a pun off of photosynthesis and the word synthesis's definition, meaning the amalgamation of multiple concepts into one concept. I just realized that Flowey is a flower because of photosynthesis and synthesis is another word for amalgamation, I am so stupid. Update: By absorbing Kris's body, Flowey turns into the Vessel from the start of the game. Isn't that nice of him? He's completely destroying a person to give you opposable thumbs!
