Brand Battle FAQ: ⚔ What is Brand Battle? Brand Battle is a competition all about branding and identity. Competitors (referred to sometimes as battlers) are tasked to make brands or rebrands to fit a prompt set each round - examples include branding fictional/real companies, making identities based off a theme, redesigning other Scratch users and more. Winners of a Brand Battle are given the opportunity to host the next iteration of the competition. ⚔ How can I join Brand Battle? You can join the latest Brand Battle during the Signups round. This round allows anyone to enter, with only 32 entrants making it onwards to Round 1. If a Brand Battle is past the Signups stage, then you cannot officially join. However, you are free to follow the round prompts, it just won't be judge by Brand Battle or seen as an official entry. ⚔ How do I become a judge/host? Hosts of Brand Battles are usually winners of the previous iteration. You can become host by winning a Brand Battle. Asking to be a host will not do anything to help you. Judges are chosen because they are either a runner-up in the previous Brand Battle iteration or have experience judging Brand Battle and/or similar design-based competitions. Hosts choose their judges based on this criteria. ⚔ When is the next iteration? The next iteration of Brand Battle usually begins a few months after the previous one concludes. This allows the new host to be selected, for the host to select their judges, and to then create the competition itself. Brand Battles can last for months, with newer iterations taking up to a year to complete. There are no fixed timelines for when a new iteration of Brand Battle will start. As soon as more information is available, we will share it! ⚔ How do I know if a Brand Battle is official? This can be determined by checking to see if this account is following the account claiming to be a Brand Battle iteration. You can also check the Brand Battle History studio, which includes every official iteration in its description alongside every official project in Brand Battle's history. The studio can be found here: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/31411547/ ⚔ Where can I find previous Brand Battles? You can find previous Brand Battle iterations by checking the Brand Battle History studio which catalogues every project made by each Brand Battle. You can also find the accounts for each Brand Battle iteration by looking at this accounts following page. ⚔ Who created Brand Battle? Brand Battle was conceptualised by in 2020, which eventually led to the first iteration of Brand Battle in which he hosted on the account. ⚔ Why has been a judge in every iteration? During , da-ta was brought in to judge again (having been a judge during Brand Battle 1) after the host stepped away from judging duties due to personal reasons. Since then, da-ta has been selected to judge each iteration of Brand Battle. It is tradition for da-ta to ask the new host of a Brand Battle to be judge, as it is not automatically assumed that he will be judge. Is your question not answered here? Ask down below!

This is subject to change during a Mini Battle iteration based on circumstances. ⚔ How does Mini Battle work? Just like Brand Battle, the first round will be signups, which allows anyone to enter. The top 32 highest scoring winners will proceed to the second and final round, which will be a free-for-all in which the victor will get the chance to host the next iteration of Mini Battle, with runners-up getting the chance to be a judge. ⚔ When is the next Mini Battle iteration? The next iteration of Mini Battle is likely to begin either during the latter half of a Brand Battle or during the downtime between Brand Battle iterations. ⚔ Who created Mini Battle? Originally planned as a companion to Brand Battle 7 where those who didn't make it to later rounds would compete, it was decided to instead to make a entirely separate spin-off of Brand Battle with its own unique identity.
