so as y'all know im otherhearted. as you may know i previously identified as an otherlink and before that otherpaw because it took a while. these have a few things in common: they are all alterhuman identities and they are all not a therian. as someone who is not a therian but is an alterhuman i get very annoyed about how overlooked other identities are. if you search up otherheart/otherpaw/otherlink/etc on basically anything all you get are definitions. if you search up therian you get masks, quads and countless other things. may i add, other things that do not make you a therian. The representation of other identities is so nonexistent it is just sad. masks are a big thing. it is always a therian mask. never an animal, never an otherhearted/link/paw/kin, never an alterhuman mask. being an alterhiman that is not a therian is sad. you talk about being underappreciated as a therian, hated, ignored. but other alterhumans have it worse. it's always "therian thing" "therian day" therian therian therian. don't get me wrong, therians are amazing, valid and deserve to be appreciated. but so do other alterhumans. I think this is also the reason behind so many fake therians because think of it this way: you say therian club yay no fakes allowed. you have done two things: made it seem like there is only therians, and if you are not a therian you aren't welcome. if you want an only therian thing, that's ok... once there is enough representation of other alterhumans. I have an example to. I met a therian (nice person) and I was with my other therian friend and we were all like yay happy yay and when it's time to go she goes like if we are ever over here and you here therian meeting you know I am here (I forget exactly you get the idea) and I was annoyed, especially because when I introduced myself, I said I was an otherheart, not therian. this was super long and slopy I hope you get the idea. next time you share or say something, if it applies to all alterhumens, please say alterhuman, not therian. thank you for reading my rant and enjoy your day (also off topic but i think we should normalize putting those little lines on the uppercase i)
