1: What story will you be using to answer these questions? How would you quickly describe the storyline? Immigrants and Gays; Band of Brothers x Fauda x Heartstopper in drag x The Things They Carried x Grey's anatomy in Gaza for some reason. 2: What inspired your story? Most of the above stories mentioned 3: Does it take place on Earth or in a made up land? In what time? Earth; mostly 2010's 4: What’s a favorite place in your story and the events that happen there? The Gays and Theys bookstore, it kind of keeps the group together after they no longer technically have to be. 5: Who is your protagonist? What is their mission? Noa Taylor Katz, to survive her mandatory army service and maybe get a girlfriend along the way. 6: Who is the most underrated character in your story and why? June. Came home from the army, raised her four siblings by herself (not by choice), and did a bunch of other stuff too (no spoilers here). 7: What two characters have the most interesting relationship (good or bad)? Lea (squad leader) and Chuck (villain); kind of like the song Father Figure from the latest Taylor Swift album. Yes, there was betrayal, but Chuck got his just desserts. 8: What are the conflicts of the story? Do you have villains? Noa (protagonist), Lea (mentor/sacrifice), and June (formerly the squad's medic and now Lea’s wife) have unfortunate ordeals in quick succession (leaving Noa scarred, June with C-PTSD, and Lea paralysed), turns out Chuck was working for the enemy this whole time; Heck yes. The aforementioned Chuck. 9: Which character is the most misunderstood? Dragon Lady, (AKA Dr. Miriam Cohen or "Shira (love interest to Noa)'s Hot Mom"). Seems cruel, yes, but it's necessary when she is, and she does care. 10: Is there a character the most like you (or even based off you)? What qualities do you share? Ehhhh Auggie (Coop's platonic partner) and I have some similarities, but all the characters have some bit of me in them. 11: Is there an animal sidekick? Yes. Noa owns a giant marshmallow of a Samoyed dog. 12: Who or what acts as the comedic relief? Sgt. Beans. Don’t ask. 13: What is the underlying message or moral of the story? Not everyone is what they seem. 14: What are some symbols or hidden meanings you have placed? Lea: Compassion in the face of danger June: Human nature/chaos Noa: Childhood innocence ruined by war 15: What genre would you consider your story? War novel/ Gay romance (combination for the ages lol) 16: What type of media is your story (book, animation, movie, play, etc)? Graphic novel 17: What’s a song that matches an event or character in your story? A few come to mind. La Poupée mont le son (Laura Thorn) for June, Father Figure (Taylor Swift) for Lea and Chuck's dynamic, Free Now (Gracie Abrams) for June trying to make peace with all her exes, The Fate of Ophelia (Taylor swift) for Shira and Noa finding each other, and there are more. 18: Is it a cast of people, animals, or both? Mostly people. 19: What’s something funny or ridiculous that happens? A few years after their injuries, Lea, and Noa (and later June) are renting an apartment together. Lea and Noa assign each other different halves of the apartment to decorate. They don't coordinate at all. Noa's half of the apartment is all pastels and cute pillows, and Lea’s is grayscale looking like it's out of an old detective movie. 20: What’s the biggest obstacle your protagonist must overcome? Almost dying, plus having a chunk out of her chest for life. 21: Does anyone die? How does it change things? We see one guy die, and it is implied occasionally. It contributes to June's mental uh-ohs and forces Lea to take on responsibilities she's not ready for 22: Which character would you choose to be your friend? Who would you not get along with? I would not get along with Dragon Lady, and I think Lea would be an awesome friend (but I'd be afraid to talk to her.) 23: If any, what weapons are used? Medical tools (if that counts) and standard issue weapons to soldiers (not explicitly). 24: How does your story differ now from when you first started making it? Everyone got a huge design revamp, Noa actually got a personality, and Lea and June wound up together. 25: What’s something interesting about your story that wasn’t asked about here? Fun facts: Lea is a lone soldier (look it up); Noa is 1/4 Filipino; Chuck has a man bun when we meet him; Shira canonically eats cough drops when stressed; June dates 5 people within the story; and Dragon Lady is a Russian oleh.
