This requires a microbit, and anyone who is not in my class can't use it because it has a controller. If you want to try to make it at home here is what you need. Materials BBC micro:bit USB cable Alligator clip wires Cardboard or a small box Aluminum foil Double-sided tape Small wooden sticks for drumsticks Create the drum controller Build a physical drum: Use cardboard to create a drum-like shape. Create a surface for the main drum hits (the "Don") and a separate area for the rim hits (the "Ka"). Make the sensors: Use aluminum foil to create two pads. Secure one foil pad to the "Don" area and the other to the "Ka" area of your cardboard drum. You can also create switches that close a circuit when hit. Wire the sensors: Connect one alligator clip wire from the GND pin on the micro:bit to one of the foil pads. Connect a second wire from pin 1 on the micro:bit to the other foil pad. This will be your "Don" input. Connect a third wire from pin 2 on the micro:bit to the "Ka" foil pad. Make the drumsticks: Cover the ends of your wooden sticks with aluminum foil. When a player hits the drum, the foil on the stick will connect the circuit, allowing the micro:bit to detect a button press. Software setup Connect micro:bit to Scratch Install Scratch Link: Download and install the Scratch Link app on your computer, as it's required for Bluetooth communication. Add the micro:bit extension: In Scratch, click the Extensions button (the blue button in the bottom-left corner). Select the micro:bit extension from the menu. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your micro:bit via Bluetooth.
