i am NOT the type of person that bases my profile off politics, and I'm not going to become that person. I want to speak out about something that is progressively getting worse as we speak, and as the year comes to an end, the fear for my safety, as well as my family's, continues to increase. As a lot of us know, ICE has been a major issue when it comes to deporting illegal immigrants and everything. But they've gone to a whole different level. They are no longer arresting you for not only speaking another language, but based on your ethnicity/race & basically your skin color. It doesn't matter if you're legal. You will get taken if you fit the criteria of those "immigrants". I'm only speaking out about this because, today, I saw children getting taken from their parents and vice versa. It dawned on me how awful these people are, dividing and separating families without a second thought. And while I know these people are only doing as they are told, everyone has a choice. I cried for almost two hours thinking about how dangerous it is for someone like me to go out. How risky it is to go to a grocery store. I am not someone that is easily frightened, but seeing this terrifies me in unimaginable ways. I'm not doing this to scare any of you Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, or literally ANYONE who falls under the race of Hispanics. I am bringing this up to bring awareness to what is happening in the world. Please, be safe. Be aware of your surroundings. Carry proof that you are a legal citizen with you at all times if possible. STAY SAFE. This world is no longer the world we knew a decade ago. We continue standing up for ourselves for as long as we need to, and we will not stop until this is over. olivia. #puertoricoparasiempre #hispanic #bringingawareness
