How doss he do this? He gets through to the unfortunate individuals at their lowest to give them a sense of hope as they think but in reality he's just performing business while helping out with a social issue but he doesnt mind helping he thinks its a right thing to do. He is a proper sword-smith too self-trained and then knighted which makes others believe even more so that his words are true and makes him more convincing. He’s not malicious though, he just thinks of life as a gamble and plays it as he sees fit. He had always been the kinda guy to take risks and find solace in new things and living an interesting life. His values were never rusted and he kept his morality. He values who he is and never wanted to jeopardise that. Over time as he tried new things he tried gambling just to see how it was like, “seems easy enough im pretty sure” and he saw a gap in the job market. He’d realised that many unfortunate hopeless people came there to de-stress and let their worries go, but in turn that was the only source of good in their lives so they were @ddicted to it. So he remembered the reverends passing in town preaching hopelessly to the homeless but that was no use, not much was coming of it as most just ignored them. These people though, he can change their minds get their minds off of wasting their money and following a sense of believing in oneself even if it meant believing in something invisible to the eye. If it meant a job opportunity for him and a benefit for the players then it seemed perfect. Even though he never believed in the almighty and all that he knew that this would be good for both and him and others. The reverends would notice his actions if he came to them and told them and hed get employed legitimately to do this job for them that he discovered and a plus would be lead a lot of individuals out of . He hadnt been a knight then, hed wanted to of course so he often went behind the bars to find others duelling with each other, thats how fights usually happened as well so he learned by duelling with those individuals, some even showed him a couple moves but others didnt take as kindly to him as they had their own troubles to look at and distract themselves by fighting or gambling.
::=}}===> Background continued As soon as the reverends recognised him as a useful asset they officially named him an honourable knight. Not for his fighting skills though, they had just wanted to make his convincing to be more honourable and look more important. It was of course but they didn't know him that well and that he knew how to fight as a knight and seemed irrelevant to the religious order anyways. It only proved useful in tough situations, self defence and that, as he usually dealed with sketchy individuals. Countless times hed been lured at the back, him just wanting to pick a fight for practice, but the others wanting to injure him for cash or just if they disagreed with him. Often they didnt disagree but if you approach the wrong groups youre guaranteed to get into a situation. So he often did and learned to be cautious and even more wary of himself. He got awful good at blackjack too and got addicted as well as the others, not as much deep as the ones he ‘saves’ but all the time spent gambling got to him too. Sometimes he couldn’t sleep so he got on the nearest train just to look at the scenery and think or just be, to get away from the casinos and sorrow of others. He often took other trains to get to other cities though, keeping his personal feelings and endeavours separate from the job he created for himself. This was done so he felt more peace of mind and felt sure that no sketchy individual would follow him back from any of the places he'd been while on his job. He usually picked more quiet casinos, the eerie quiet ones where he sensed everyones faith in goodness of the world was at its lowest. So he often felt desolated and just alright not saddened per say but just calm. —————- ::=}}===> Pmv plan: One night hed gone on a ride on a train to doze off a little but couldnt catch sleep as hed been thinking and had been wondering and pacing around the carriage in the train before sitting down and deciding to look outside. Another traveller was on the carriage as well but entered a bit after he had sitten down and was facing the window. The traveller had sat down a bit next to the knight as he looled safe enough. The traveller hadnt much experience of much that happened but couldnt take hus mind off his own matters. The knight sees him and theres a moment of recognition of the look hed seen on many of the gamblers faces. “If you dont mind me sayin’ ,I can see you’re out of aces” . And this was true, for it is a soldier whod been exiled from another nations army on thar train. Computer expert that had just managed to back out of an attempt to get into one of the secret armies scattered across the country. Hed been one of the enemy troops wanting to pinpoint the exact location of the army that constantly moved. Hed backed out if this mission though and instead got exiled to this country now where he had just moments before been at war with and he has conflicting feelings about it. So the knight tells him that life is basically like a gamble from his experiences and gives him advice. Why is this striking? He just tells his life and by someone talking about their own life they realise things for themselves and see their situation in a different way. The knight had never talked about his life with anybody before, mostly lil bits with strangers but he saw an opportunity to help someone out not with religion but with actual pure guidance from a real person, himself. He sees that religion shouldn't be relied on fully without a doubt, people should see things for themselves and should have reflections on themselves. Sure religion helped as that helped oriole see who they are sometimes with a little push that the almighty was listening to them and could help, but most times real help is found from people around you. No need to go looking to the skies for comfort or some higher up like some reverends to have a stable life. He needs to talk with individuals he’s equal with and not only the desperate, for they affect who he is. His life should not be defined by his interactions with only these types its not healthy at all and he sees that in “the gambler, he broke even” . He decides to seek a normal life too to actually make something of his life other than his job and his will to help. And for that he finds comfort in this individual , theyre not an @ddict and they seem normal and understand his situation and he understands the soldiers situation too so he decides to begin talking with this guy from time to time and find others who he can expand his connections with and make good relationships with to have a proper life. “And in his final words i found an ace that i could keep” [[ CREDITS ]] []:> Character designed and owned (currently) by @takeasipp_ []:> Art by me (@Flamingo-21) []:> Story by me, inspired by the song The Gambler (credits on song below) []> Yaya lil swords kinda text art by me hehe [[ SONGS ]] []> Background songs: []> Theme song: The Gambler - by Kenny Rogers
