So I'm not allowed to get youtube yet, so I thought, why not start off on scratch to see if people want to hear my opinions? Dw I asked my parents, and this is allowed. No voice tho :P But let's get onto topic. MINOR SPOILERS FOR SQUIRRELFLIGHT'S SUPER EDITION AND CITY OF STARS. Squirrelflight(star but lets be og for a min) is loved for her tragic love triangle among other things. Is it so tragic? Well Brambleclaw(star, but again, lets be og) turns out to be a HORRIBLE MATE. Especially in her super edition! I know, not everybody is perfect, but when looking at other big ships, they all have flaws. But public shaming and possisveness….. No. Like let's take Firestar and Sandstorm. They have that whole caboodle with “Oh you just wish Spottedleaf was your mate!” and Firestar being like “No I love you Sandstorm!” But it's never as bad as it gets with Squirrelflight. And then Ashfur! With his luscious blonde hair (jk) he seemed like the perfect choice except Brambleclaw gets to be POV and we all know POV gets the girl! But for real, Ashfur was an actual good decision before his homicidal twist and possessiveness and then all of the taking over Bramblestar thing. But… if Squirrel chose him, I think none of that would’ve happened. He’d still be a bad mate but not as bad as his future or Brambleclaw’s. I think the Erins thought it would be cool to have Brambleclaw become leader and get a totally loyal girl, and then realized he needed flaws beside striving to prove loyalty because he eventually becomes respected. So they threw the brick at Squirrelflight. How could they!?! What would I do? Not make Brambleclaw horrible. Or choose Ashfur. But I actually wouldn't because all of the great plot Ashfur is. It's very confusing but I feel like this needs to be discussed. What are yall’s thoughts? Who should’ve Squirrelflight chosen? Would Squirrelflight choosing Ashfur make him not turn homicidal? Is Brambleclaw a bad mate? Am I good at this? Am I Italian?
