“I want to do this.” The whisper filled her moonlit room, seeming to fill the room with a strange light. “No, I have to do this.” It wasn’t her choice, it was her destiny. Maybe even the reason she was born. Stroking the scar down her right arm, she heard her mother’s voice in her head. “When the moonlight starts to fade, it’s your time to save.” Save what? How? The questions always followed her mother’s final words. But it felt like she had to do it. Whatever it was, it was her mother’s wish. A missing piece. The prophecy. She was a part of it. She was going to face her biggest fears and leap. After all, she was Luna Rowe. She was going to make a change. The wind was flowing into Noah's window. He didn’t care, he couldn’t care. It was his job to take care of her, his parent’s final wishes. But, he failed them. Luna was trying to fulfill the prophecy, and it was his fault. He didn’t remember much about the day, but it was when they were about 3. A blood moon. Their scar was formed. The twins’ mom died, and with her last breath said “Take care of your sister Noah, she might be the last thing you have.” She whispered something to Luna too, but he never asked. He didn’t want to know. Standing up, he made himself a promise. He was going to stop this. The Riven house was quiet, except for the rustle of the trees and the occasional chirp that slipped through the open window. Drew sat on his bed, drawing under the moonlight. Every pencil stroke was soft and precise. He sat there intently, crafting a piece of art. He leaned in, drawing her smile. Pausing he dropped his pencil, letting the moon hit the paper. It was Luna mid laugh. He loved how it lit up her face, how it brought the soft pink of her cheeks, how it drifted her away from her doubts, her fears. It made her look free. More like herself. He smiled, holding up the picture. Drew loved when she laughed, wanted her to laugh. She seemed so much brighter, and he was going to do everything he could to keep it that way.
This was such a big project, I hope you enjoy! Currently working on- Chapter two
