A 2-Player chess game! Please press the green flag twice or else you'll encounter a glitch. Instructions in game. I couldn't figure out how to make the game recognize that the king is in checkmate so press the green "C" button for the plants to win, and the purple one for the zombies to win. Sometimes there is a glitch when you start the game where the pieces will appear on the menu. If this happens, restart the project as this is unintentional.
Updates: (Portable Update) Plants vs Zombies Chess is now playable on ALL devices! Now making use of in-game buttons rather than keys on a keyboard! Now you can play the game nobody asked for on the go! (Graphics Update) WOAH!!! What's this? The gravestones now have shading? There's grass and flowers? There's purple fog?! That's right! The graphics update is here! Hooray! (Audio Update) A volume button? Cool... I guess...? (Statistics Update) Just what we needed! MORE buttons! Now there is a statistics menu with the variables Match Time, Plant Wins, and Zombie Wins! (Checkmate Update) Imagine for a second that it's the plants' turn and you click the plant win button. Then, when you check the statistics, the zombies have -1 points! Now with the Checkmate Update, you won't get confused with 2 checkmate buttons and accidentally break the game! No one wants a faulty scoreboard! (Viewing Update) The continue button was swapped out for the view board button! Now you can click it and admire how you obliterated your opponent! Don't worry though! If you accidentally pressed the checkmate button, you can still continue the game by hitting the X button. (Almanac Update) Who put a book in a chess game?! That's right, the Suburban Almanac is HERE! Now you can read descriptive, AND mildly insulting biographies of your favorite pieces! (This update will be finished tomorrow!)
