Obviously there'll be more art- but for now Feather gets to be the centre of this scene XD
Feather was among the first to join the Ex4vr program, a vital initiative at the University of Taysha that granted a select few access to extraordinary but experimental abilities. The program’s greatest breakthrough is known under the name; Ex4vr1.32. Involving a direct neural injection, it enabled users to project their consciousness beyond their own minds. Any patient with this serum could remain in control of themselves while simultaneously processing and even influencing the thoughts and actions of others. But, that was only the promise. Driven by a greed for change, Feather applied early and was accepted. Phoenix, was already a student at the university, a fact he assures Feather, was the only reason he was granted access to the injection himself. But 1.32 came with some of the most obnoxiously abhorrent side effects since medicine known to the ‘50s. The procedure left Feather in constant physical pain and emotionally isolated, alienated from a society that now felt eerily distant and ununderstandable. He only wished now… was to vanish. Unbeknownst to him, Phoenix was beginning to feel the same way. Their shared disillusionment was never just personal as systemic changes had an uncomforting impact to add on. Taysha, once and even now seen as a beacon of innovation and success in the United Democracy, became something holding more caution than vibrance. With cutting-edge STEM advancements, and its booming fossil fuel industry was the surface of a more encaged ecosystem. Transparency from officials eroded while misleading logic became near routine. Restrictions tightened, outright banning access to knowledge for children and eventually for all citizens. Historical narratives were censored, alternative perspectives outlawed. Representation grew increasingly skewed and history was rewritten. Education became nearsighted, the government erratic and truth became a near forgotten necessity. Feather and Phoenix, both longing for life to lift them from under the weight of this controlled reality, knew they couldn’t stay. The world outside would be their next calling, and Locouvar would be the one place that screamed for their attention the loudest.
