You think the Great Depression was cruel? How Asian countries have never experienced something so “heartbreaking” and “tragic?” How you guys think you have gone through more than us and experienced harder times so you guys could treat us like viruses? Let me tell you these four simple words: The Famine of Vietnam ———————————- During World War II, Vietnam got raided by enemies that were getting prepared for war. They had nothing left but themselves. The 2 countries that raided us were Japan and the French. The famine only lasted from 1944-1945, but 2 million people had passed away. During the famine, people had nothing to eat. When things got bad, people ate bark. When things got worse, they drank mud. And when there was nothing left— they ate each other, sacrificing the weak that cannot move on. Children were traded like money. Parents did not have a choice. They did not have homes. Food. Anything. This hurts more than any story Americans could dream of. Had you ever have to eat your own foot? Swim miles and miles just to find nothing but your own death? Do you think you could treat Asians like viruses because you think you have gone through harder times and deserve more respect? We’ve lived through hell. We’re still here. So treat us like humans.
