Hai kids, I'm a Theistic Satanist. I'm here to talk about Satanism, because it's really misunderstood and misinterpreted. Overview: I see a bunch of people making the argument that Satanists aren't bad because we don't worship Satan. But that's somewhat wrong, because some of us do worship Satan. What people need to understand is what worshiping Satan really means. Theistic Satanism: Theistic Satanists have a lot of different beliefs. You could ask Satanists how they see Satan, and each will tell you at least a slightly different thing. Overall, Satan is a good deity. I can't speak for all Theistic Satanists, but we mainly see him as a welcoming and gentle deity that is guiding and watchful. Worshiping him does not mean it's bad, it's just us showing him our love. Atheistic Satanism: Atheistic Satanists don't believe in Satan. They use him as a symbol for good things in life, specifically the 7 tenants (which majority of all Satanists follow). His symbol teaches people to love themselves, and be their own gods. It's like he is there to remind people that they deserve to take care of themselves. 7 Tenets: I - One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason. II - The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. III - One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone. IV - The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own. V - Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs. VI - People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused. VII - Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word. Stereotypes: "Satanism is an occult!" No. With your argument, every religion could technically be one. And judging by the 7 tenets, the occults that claim to be Satanist aren't, because they don't follow the 7. "Satanists believe in the Christian Satan, meaning they have to believe in God, too." Atheistic Satanists use the Baphomet as their symbol, which is in no way related to Christianity. As for Theistic Satanists, the majority of us don't believe in anything related to Christianity. "Satanists worship the Devil!" We don't believe in the Devil... Christian Hate: Keep in mind that a lot of Satanists come from religious trauma, specifically from Christianity. This isn't an attack on Christianity, just please, to all the Christians out there, research before you hate. Your threats don't do anything, and if anything just make people lean into Satanism even more. Oki guys, that's it. Please lmk if I missed anything or got anything wrong! I did this kind of quickly cause I just really wanted to get it out... (also it's an overview, not a deep dive into Satanism) ⛧ !Hail Satan! ⛧
