Hello everyone! I am starting a Dandy's World AU called, "The Crafthouse." This is the prologue to it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prologue: Floor 25. Ding. Teagan had arrived. (Why am I doing this?) She thought nervously. (Just to take part in Rodger's stupid research project... And maybe find a cure for my baby's eye.) That's right. She needed a cure for Toodles' eye. Rodger couldn't go, since he had a large bite in his side from Pebble that was still getting fixed. However, a few days with the healing of a medkit should do him just fine. The files left behind by the toon handlers said there was a supposed, "Healing Station" on floor 25. The elevator door opened with an obnoxious screeching sound. Oh boy, did that door need some oil. Teagan's small hope of a cure for Toodles almost completely fell away when she saw that the whole floor's lights were completely out. (A blackout. Great. Just what a desperate teacup needs.) She pulled out her flashlight, and stepped out of the elevator. (What was that? Footsteps.) There was a twisted on this floor. They sounded faint, though, so Teagan was safe for now. She began to walk, trying to find the healing station. A faint green glow came from behind a corner. Not that bright, but just enough to see. (Vee! N-no. Vee is back at Gardenview center.) Teagan turned the corner, and saw a large mesh cage with a few glowing test tubes in it. There was a sign on it, which said, "Only use if there is an emergency." (This must be it. The healing station I was looking for. But how do I get past this mesh? Damn these porcelain limbs.) Then, she had an idea. She pulled out the jumper cables Rodger had given her for the trip, and attached them onto the mesh. She pulled on it, until, CRASH! The mesh fell off. The footsteps got louder at the sound. (Oh god...) She grabbed three of the eight test tubes and ran back to the elevator. She could tell now, that something was onto her. It wasn't growling like Pebble, but it sounded BIG. She got to the elevator. (NO! It's closed! I took too long!) She repeatedly pressed the elevator button, and could hear the sound of the elevator descending, but the thing was getting closer. (I'm going to have to loop it until the elevator comes. No, what am I thinking?! I can't run fast! I just have to hide until it leaves.) She saw a nearby stack of crates, ran to it and crouched down, flicked off her flashlight, and hid the light of the test tubes with her body the best that she could. The footsteps stopped. The elevator arrived. (I could make a dash for it! I could make it!) She was hesitant at first, frozen by fear, but then she remembered that this may be her only chance to get back. No more procrastinating. She got herself together and stood up, and ran to the elevator. She was only a few feet away now. (This is it! I am going to make it back to my family! I'm gonna-) *SHATTER*
