This is a caesar cipher, that means that to encode, you take the letter then shift it over by the shift number, then you get a new letter. Ex: B with a shift number of 3 = E. Explanation: B, C, D, E. 'E' is our new letter. The trick is that nobody but you and your friend knows the shift number.
