Press the green flag then click anywhere on the board to start. click the button in the corner to swap between digging tiles and placing flags. The number on the tile indicates how many bombs are next to it. You want to place flags on all the tiles with bombs without clicking on them. You can also click revealed tiles with the same amount of flags around it as bombs to reveal all the tiles around it.
