(I got lazy on the arcade recreation of the gameplay screen here, so it's the original SNES stuff with arcade HUD) Alternate Title: Super Castlevania IV Arcade Style Music Remixes I'd be very surprised if there's a person out there dedicating making music using System 2 sound chips, or the YM2610 ones. On a fitting occasion of Halloween, I decided to remix 3 tracks from the Castlevania franchise using a replication of Namco's System 2 sound hardware, which has: - YM2151 - Namco C140 The tracks remixed are: - Supposed main theme of Super Castlevania IV (BGM 01) - Supposed general main theme of Castlevania (BGM 0E, which is actually 14) (Was this supposed to be called "Bloody Tears"?) - Main theme of Castlevania 1 (BGM 0F, actually 15. This one has no instrument samples effectively making it compatible with Namco System 1) Although there was one arcade game based off Castlevania (named Haunted Castle), it was said to be terrible and stuff like that; being practically next to impossible with the seemingly limited continues, poor hit detections, badly placed obstacles, and one life. That game had a remaster via Dominus Collection, but it got rid of that arcade sounding music. For this, it is an arcade music style remix of SCVIV. Also, the original release of this in Japan was released exactly on Halloween.
Before commenting, these are NOT Genesis remixes. Have you even heard of late 80s or early 90s arcade music before? There's still a distinction between them in most cases, especially samples. This project was started few days ago (not reflecting project ID), with track remixes originating a couple weeks ago. Slight trigger warning: Castlevania isn't one of my most favorite game franchise, but there's a lot going on with these games; being challenging but fun, trying to take on the enemies through precise moves with your whip and various items. I'm back making these music remixes as I didn't have the right time to release another custom music pack. I also decided to make a return of making a music remix project in this account (not the alt one) so that people would still know I make these. I'll make a studio about these soon for easier navigation as well as another song remix collection.
