WAUHHH THIS WAS SO FUN??? ‘Evil’ L death note AU… for context: The IDEA is that L finds the death note (prior to canon) and uses it at first (midora is his shinigami), but becomes jaded and bored with solving cases soon after, until he finds out that another notebook had been dropped!! Because at this point Kira is already a kind of widespread unsolved thing Light doesn't try to go as crazy with playing god, but the MOMENT he attracts L's attention and L discovers how brilliant Light is, L decides that he wants to reopen the Kira case to ‘solving’ once more, and basically puts Light in a psychological torture nexus because he's absolutely fascinated to see if Light can chase him down or not. The ensuing cat and mouse plays out, but the mouse is not only the instigator, but the puppet master all the same :] Sorry for the yap I’m just excited ToT
