NOTICE 11/25 OKAY NOW THAT MOSSCLAN HAS ACTUALLY DONE ARSON I CAN NOW SAFELY MAKE THIS DISCLAIMER: please don't do arson. i had to give an example because this project requires me to give you guys an example to grasp onto to understand the concepts i'm talking about, but it is the ONLY example i've listed for a reason. because anything i say in this project is just what you guys are going to do. this entire project is simply saying "don't focus too much on the cold hard mechanics, PLEASE make stuff up for your characters lives and make the roleplay fun for you! it makes things more fun for everyone!" but after posting this all i've seen from people is "okay the creative toolbox says fire let's go do fire!!!" (mossclan excluded i think they actually got the idea independantly) and that's.. missing the entire point of the project. i don't want to be the source of everyones plot ideas because then everyones doing the same things and that's not very fun now that we've actually done the fire we all wanted i wanted to make it very clear that that is... missing the point LOL just. just make stuff up and have fun, okay? ------- this is just more of a.. reminder project? rather than a mechanics focused one sometimes i notice that people struggle to think of actions for their character beyond the base mechanics of the roleplay,, and i just want to remind you all that you do not by any means have to be restricted by those ^^ i hope what i've done in the past recent updates can start hitting home that exp/apt doesn't have to be the central mechanic of everything. i value out of the box thinkers the most especially when it comes to highranks and lore-relevant characters, i think they're fun. the rules are to keep it fair, but there's no rule against... causing a bit of chaos, you know? make connections with those around you and do something fun, it doesnt have to be too serious. for example, we have roads that go through both flurryclan and mossclan that in this 3 years of roleplay nobody has ever interacted with once and that's probably because there's no explicit death or exp mechanic associated with them. i just want to remind you guys that you are free to treat this like a normal roleplay with things that arent mechanics,, you can still break out of that box and lead a path that's interesting to you without staying in the confines of the mechanics idk that i worded this well, i dont want to give you guys specific ideas on what i mean because anything i mention in this project is just going to be what you guys do, and the whole point is to try to encourage y'all to be more creative than i am ^^ i want to see what you guys come up with for your own characters in their lives just do something that is fun for you and those around you okay create a show okay i have the popcorn im ready to watch highranks and the creative toolbox -- i give highranks a lot of leeway with their clan and clanmates, moreso than a normal person. specifically full medics and full leaders so long as they're doing their main duties as those roles. because you guys are highranks i am relying on you to drive the plot of your clan, both medics and leaders, and make it fun and interesting for everyone. a memorable highrank goes above and beyond their required duties to engage with the clan. leaders, do whatever you want with your clan. when i say whatever, i mean whatever. for example, mossclan/flurryclan leaders, your territory sure is flammable!! i don't mind. as long as you have 1) a motive for doing so and 2) the method at which you're going to accomplish it i really don't care just ask me first. go ahead and be vehemently evil. be somebody who does things that are fun for your clan that engages them, okay? you should be someone that is the source of fun and exciting plot and lore for your clan's characters. new roles in a clan should have a purpose, but they can if you'd like interact with mechanics in a different way than other roles ^^ i just need to approve it first so its not op. if a role is intended to be a highrank please approve that with me separately as well medics, you too! although you get slightly less leeway than leaders, like you cant rename a clan, you can still do crazy stuff as a full highrank. again, just talk with me first. for medics its a lot more about having a lot more leeway with causing chaos than it is about changing a clans structure. you guys can invite others to crash gatherings or medic meetings, or change the laws within your clan, or pretty much most things.
