Our protagonist, a courageous warrior-cat named Flintclaw, lives in the realm of the feline kingdom ruled by the arrogant King Whiskerfur. King Whiskerfur imposes heavy taxes on the smaller cat-folk, hoarding wealth and treating the lesser cats poorly. Flintclaw, motivated by injustice, challenges the king’s oppressive rule. In a dramatic confrontation in the king’s great hall, Flintclaw leaps forward and smashes a heavy chair (carved of ancient oak) over King Whiskerfur’s throne, shattering the authority symbol. The hall erupts in chaos. The guards seize Flintclaw, and King Whiskerfur declares him guilty of treason. Flintclaw is thrown into the royal dungeons.
