3 Months Later: Link: "Would you have chosen a different path?" "Zelda..." "Link, I... I know that Mipha is planning to propose to you..." "I'm not going to marry her. I love you." "But my father..." "I don't care what he thinks about us." "Your father wants you to marry Mipha... how will he react?" "My father just wants to raise his status. I don't care what he thinks, I love you, and that is more than enough for me." 2 weeks later: Link: "Link, can you come with me?" I was at Zora's domain. I'm going to break her heart, no matter how I put it. I either say yes or no. And I knew what I had to say. "Mipha..." Many of the Zora were walking towards us. Whispering. "He's gonna say yes. I know it!" "They're gonna be so cute together!" "This is so exciting!" "I'm so happy for them." "Link, I've been thinking for awhile... well, I... I love you, and I- when all this is over, will you... marry me?" She pulled out the Zora armor. "Mipha..." I looked away. "Well?" "What is he waiting for?" "Link... what is it?" "I'm sorry. I-I can't." "What? Why not? I love you!" "I- I don't feel the same, Mipha." "What?..." The crowd seemed mad. "LINK! What in the name of the Goddess do you mean?" A man I quickly recognized as my dad stepped out. "You are offered the opportunity to marry the ZORA PRINCESS! And you reject it!" "Dad, I-" "YOU WILL ACCEPT THE OFFER!" I heard footsteps from the stairs. "I believe that is Link's decision, Commander." "Zeld- Princess!" I quickly caught myself. Nobody could know of Zelda's relationship with me. Especially not Mipha or my father. "Your highness, with all due respect..." "This decision will affect him for the rest of his life. It is his choice." I smiled slightly at her. Mipha took one look at that and ran off crying. "What the heck!?" "Why doesn't he feel the same?!" The crowd was mad. Zelda walked up. She lightly nodded. I jogged after Mipha. Va Ruta. That's where she'll be. 2 minutes later: "Go away." I didn't say anything. "Why *Hic*?" "Why didn't you- *hic* say yes?" "Mipha... I- I'm sorry. I- don't feel the same way as you have..." "*Hic* You're hurt. Here." She gently picked up my arm. It was a little scratched up. "I'm sorry. *Hic*" "Mipha, nobody is to blame for this." "Your heart is *Hic* already taken, isn't it? By her?" "You- please don't tell anyone. Especially not my father." "I *Hic* promise. You may not love me the way I love you, but you are still part of the Zora family. *Hic* You and her." I felt tears well up in my eyes. "You should get some water. It'll help." "*Hic* Thank you, Link." She got up, dove into the lake, and swam away.
