(Brightney POV) I woke up, my vision blurry and my head pounding. I groaned as I tried to stand. Why couldn't I move? Once my vision finally cleared, I realized I was tied to a chair with rope. I was completely trapped, unable to move my legs or arms. Slowly, my memory returned back to me. Someone hit me in the head earlier and knocked me out. Now I'm here. I looked around. The room should've been completely dark, but thanks to my light, I could make out a few very blurry crates around me, as I didn't have my glasses now for some reason. The room itself was pretty small. But the thing that was really catching my eyes, or really my nose, was the smell. It smelled like r0t and ichor, causing me to want to g@g. The door to the room opened, and someone entered. I squinted at them, trying to figure out who they were. They were holding an item in their hands, but I couldn't tell what it was. The person spoke, and I immediately recognized her voice. "Hi Brightney!" I blinked, shocked. "Ginger?! Is that really you?!" "Yup!" "How did the event toons escape the basement?" She giggled. "Dandy let us out because he didn't want us to be trapped during the outbreak." So she knew about the outbreak. At least that was reassuring. "Wait, then you know where Dandy is! We've been looking for him!" Ginger paused before speaking again. "Well, yeah, I do. But I'm afraid you won't be seeing him." I tilted my head. Something was off. I could feel it. "What do you mean...?" She chuckled. "You won't have to worry about it." She moved closer, and brought one of the object to my neck. I gasped. It was a kn1fe. "Ginger, what are you doing?! Keep that away from me!" She sighed mockingly. "Oh...poor Brightney. I'm so sorry to do this, but I'm st@rving, and if you haven't noticed, food is a big shortage because Dyle isn't here to monitor the trains anymore as he's been missing for quite some time." "I-I can find you food! I promise! There is no reason to (unalive) me!" Ginger hesitated. "Hm...and how will you do that?" "I'm working with some of my friends in a lab. We have plenty of food. I can sneak you some down here." Ginger hummed thoughtfully before nodding. "Very well. Bring me a decent amount of food for me everyday, and I will spare you." I nodded. "O-okay...I will. I promise." She chuckled and began to untie me. "Alright, I'll let you go. You better keep your promise." When she finished untying me, I decided to ask something that was on my mind. "Hey Ginger....what happened to the other event toons?" "Oh, Bassie and her crew went to the spring floor. Gourdy and his crew went to the Halloween floor." "What about the other Christmas toons?" She grabbed my arm and squeezed it painfully. "Let's not ask questions we don't want the answer to, shall we?" I gulped nervously as she handed my glasses, which I put on. Now I could see her face clearly. She had an eerie calm look in her eyes, and her mouth and hands were stained with ichor. She led me out of the room and to the elevator. When it opened, she shoved me inside. "Alright, you better be back later with my food, and don't forget it anytime after that, you hear?" I nodded. She grinned, seeming satisfied. The elevator closed, leaving me alone with my rising dread.
Brightney is nearly completely blind in this AU without her glasses, also Brightney didn't know Dandy was (unalived) bc she wasn't with the others when Pebble and Flutter brought Dandy's head. Tn: @SugarSkullKitten
