Click or Space for Roar Story: April 4, 1955. A genetic company captured 5 mammals and 5 reptiles for a genetic experiment. The first mammal-reptile hybrids, created by them. The first 3 attempts were failures, abominations. The first was sluggish, falling apart due to the warm blood of a mammal forcing the animal built for cold blood to use up all of its energy and resources. The second one had a skeleton that was extremely malformed and had arthritis. The third had no severe medical problems, but was severely aggressive and was forced to be put down. The other two, were successes. They were perfect in every way. Whatever flaws each type of animal had the other canceled out. This was only possible because of genetic modification, where they carefully selected only the best genes. Those two were Baragon, a rhinoceros iguana and rat hybrid and Anguirus, a snapping turtle and giant armadillo hybrid. They contained them for further study, in hopes of using it for curing diseases that some animals are immune to in humans. But day by day, the animals did not grow in a way that young animals do. Even after they hit genetic maturity, they continued to grow larger and larger. Eventually, they could not be contained, even with the underground bunkers the size of a city built specifically to keep them in. It worked for quite a while, but life, indeed, does find a way. The sirens blared, "CONTAINMENT BREACH," flashing red lights across the facility. Enough to illuminate the ground as if it was blood stained, which it would have been if not for the scale of the escapees. 8:49 P.M, April 8, 1976. Atlanta, Georgia. The sitcom played on the television, the room filled with silence with the exception of the show itself. "Oh James, where have you been all this time?" "I'm sorry Barbara, but there was this deal on this T.V that was to die-" The emergency alarms blared a terrible noise. "ATTENTION, ATTENTION" in a calm robotic voice was overshadowed by the alerts on screen. A sharply dressed government official behind a pedestal appeared. "Sorry ladies and gentlemen. We interrupt this broadcast to bring an urgent message from President Ford." The president arrived on screen, his face poorly masking the terror that everyone in his room felt. "Hello ladies and gentlemen. Anyone currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia is urged to evacuate immediately. A massive unidentified terrestrial organism has been seen attacking the city. We will send armed vehicles to all surrounding areas as well, enter the vehicles without hesitation. Stay safe and God bless." The sitcom resumed, the silence having never been broken. There never was anyone to watch the T.V anyways. The alert came too late. 10:40 P.M . Anguirus and Baragon rampaged through the city in confusion, anger and hunger. They had eaten nothing but tons and tons of sardines for years, and the smell of food other than that enticed them. Poultry, cattle, the exotic beasts at the zoo... The city was large, loud and bright, something that any aggressive animal would get ticked off by. And these pair, if you asked any survivors, were nothing but aggressive. As they tore through the city, block after block collapsing, thousands of people slaughtered in the crossfire, a roar sounded in the distance. A tower ing moss-green figure pulsating azure stood ahead of them. Armed helicopters and jets prepared evacuation and attack. None of the vehicles were aimed at the green titan. Artillery shells were dropped on both the monsters after evac was successful, as the large monster before them charged. Baragon raised his frill and rammed into the monster, driving his horn through his shoulder. Or so it seemed. The beast's hide was so tough that Baragon's horn broke. Baragon screamed, and his accomplice, Anguirus was enraged that such harm could befall his brother. Anguirus swiped his club tail against the beast's legs, but his tail bent against it. His legs were unscratched. Baragon leapt into the air and dived onto the beast. The beast grabbed Baragon with his mouth at his neck and slammed him into the ground. Anguirus leapt onto his back, attempting to bite his neck, but it was covered in spines, hard bony spines. The beast let out a burst of its azure energy through them, sending Anguirus flying back. The beast was barely scratched. Baragon wriggled under his feet, screaming in a way that made the beast look at them less agressively. A pleading cry. The beast took its feet off of Baragon and looked at both of the monsters. Baragon ran to Anguirus's side, seeking protection from his brother. The beast stared at the two, almost pitifully. Pity. PITY. HE LOOKED AT THEM LIKE THEY WERE PITIFUL. Anguirus growled, about to charge at the beast. But Baragon stood infront of him, blocking his way. There was no way the two could win, even if they perfectly coordinated and gave it their all. The beast had a certain energy to him, radiating all around him. (continued)
This made Anguirus think twice, and he gave the beast one last look as he burrowed down with his brother. The beast stared at them, with eyes that looked like they had lost all intent to make them scared. Baragon and Angurius left the city.
