Here is my updated tier list for COD Zombies which now includes Black Ops 4's maps! so Black Ops 1 through 4 Includes the remastered versions of the maps in Black Ops 3 which'll have it's symbol next to it I will also this time give descriptions for my top favorites in S tier! my top 5 :> Honorable Mention | Black Ops 3 Ascension: This here is one of the *only* cases where I feel a chronicles remaster feels like an upgrade. The map overall translates incredibly well with Black Ops 3's system with the zombies' fast hit speeds and gobblegums... heck- you hate mega gobblegums? guess what... the map *itself* undermines the most overpowered gums due to the monkeys stealing your perks, making it hilarious witnessing people rage losing their precious Perkaholics and Reign Drops. Ascension offers as an amazing starting point for those wanting to learn the fundamentals of zombie training/hoarding, and with the faster hit speeds furthers the incentive and learning factor. I so very badly wanted to put this map in my Top 5, but the coming maps deserve it more... please, either BO1 or BO3, if you want to learn high rounds, play this map. Number 5 | Dead of the Night: Black Ops 4 opened my eyes in terms of how an easter egg and theming of a map can really accelerate how enjoyable it is (used to not be a fan of BO4 until now lol) DOTN has an incredible theming of a overrun mansion, vampire zombies, and freakin' werewolves... an amazing easter egg, getting Alistair's Folly and upgrading it to Alistair's Annihilator is a fun thing to do, and getting Pack a Punch in this map, is unique each and every time giving a different step each game when glaring into the stones. The only reason this map isn't ranked higher is because high rounds on this map are difficult and tight, and this... one stupid... step... where you get turned zombies to dig up at the mushrooms. otherwise, this map deserves... so much more love... Number 4 | Der Eisendrache: This map people hold too much of a high regard... NO... it's not better than Origins... but I can't disagree by saying it *is* a spot on amazing map. Getting the bow and choosing what element you upgrade it to is amazing, this allows me to mix up gameplay having a different bow each game as i'm doing the easter egg or high rounds, and undoubtably each bow upgrade feels great to get, other than the nitpick I have with the Fire Bow. High rounds on this map are hard, but are fun... or of course if you're lazy, you can camp for them. and the easter egg is simpler, and memorable. Number 3 | Mob of the Dead: This map, if we aren't doing this in terms of ranking them out of which one is best, this is my MOST FAVORITE MAP in all of COD Zombies. The theming of the map is so encaptivating and thrilling, each of the characters have amazing writing and interactions with each other... the maps layout is cramped, but enough to where its perfect... setting up and getting everything from the wonder weapons and plane parts is seamless and satisfying... and the maps soundtrack is by far the best we've ever had. Either if you're a casual or hardcore player, this map is perfect for both worlds, and when me and my brother completed the easter egg for the first time, it was one of the most memorable and amazing feelings we've ever experienced. Best. Map. Ever. Number 2 | Tag Der Toten: I surprised myself... SO MUCH... when I played through this map the first few times... it doesn't come close to the top 1... but DANG... its a *GREAT* map, makes me sad that people don't get BO4 like I do... no part of the map *ever* goes untouched, it PERFECTLY ties together in a perfect circle. each of the shield parts when taking the left path each lead up to the crafting table so when you have all the parts, you can just craft it right away! The wonder weapons on this map, people. freaking. LIEEEEE about them.... the DG-1? aim for the head, kills a ton... the Tundra Gun? treat it like an explosive... it kills infinitely... heck... probably BETTER than the Thunder Gun if you have PhD, you can shoot the ground and it kills all zombies around you EVEN behind making it a great weapon for corners AND horde kills. When you craft the heat pack, you can train within the icy water for a muuuch longer time, heck... if on top of it... INFINITELY, this *solves* the high round super sprinter problem! The challenge podiums, each give passive upgrades for you, armor, upgraded ice pick, self revive, half off traps, and more... the easter egg, INCREDIBLY fun, and as i've said the map flows together perfectly, so *NONE* of the steps get too frustrating! I am upset that people don't give BO4 a chance, because this map is an amazing experience, it's too bad that the story went to crap... makin' this one my next 50! go to notes and creds for num 1 ;)
read when done with others lol Number 1 | Origins: ...well... is it much of a surprise? what else is there to say here..?! this map has everything... amazing easter egg... amazing high rounds... amazing soundtrack... amazing flow.. amazing atmosphere... EVERYTHING. When you're a hardcore fan like me, you *REALLY* come to appreciate a map like this one. Getting and upgrading the elemental staffs... progressing and getting *GOOD* at it... optimizing and learning the best way to do it... it's so satisfying. The map *itself* is amazing to look at, the robots, the trenches, getting the generators on, the ethereal feel of the crazy place. The soundtrack... while i think MOTD is a bit better, you can't lie by saying that this soundtrack is AMAZING... and recently, I completed the easter egg for this map, the feeling of getting my first MAJOR EE done, especially this one... best feeling in the world. Origins will forever hold a special place in my heart for being one the most well executed and amazing maps in all of zombies for its easter egg and progression, and many others will agree with me. Greatest map in zombies <3
