------------------------------ Backstory ------------------------------- ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ 10 months after Takumi was born (in the slums of the Sphere), his mother and father were both killed by a mysterious murderer. He never remembered much of what happened (who could blame him? He was young as the day) and only had a Queen chess peice he teethed upon. Takumi was taken by a rich middle-aged man, who cared for him like his own son, swept him up from the slums and loved him like his own. But he never knew where he was originally born until he was 16. He had trouble raising him, however; Takumi was a rebellious child and hated the rules, often sneaking in to play with friends that lived in the lesser fortunate part of the Sphere. This made the people of higher class loathe him calling him a freak. This didn't bother him. He knew in his heart that all people are people, not animals. He was an oddball in his community: he played foreign games (chess, which he adored), wore slightly ragged clothes and was always carrying his beloved chess peice in his hand and often in his mouth. His adoptive father (Aku Akuyoshi) was always scolding him and reminding him of the matter but he would never listen. 'They are also people and people are not animals,' he said to himself, hot-headed after his talking-to. But that drastically changed on his 16th birthday. Aku had promised him to tell him about his real parents; however something changed in his heart when the time came. When Takumi was younger, he believed that 'all people were people, not animals'...... But never again. He learnt that people are evil creatures the hard way. He was bullied for being different and for having poliosis and for being a genius. He hated it. It was a particular horrible day for Takumi and Aku pestered him, asking him if he really wanted to know where he was born, to the point that he punched him straight in his face. It was a horrible thing, yes, but all the anger that had built up to this moment and he was satifie- "You want to know.... TAKUMI!?" Aku screeched, taking him by the throat, smiling grimly through his bloody mouth, "Well, I KILLED YOUR PARENTS! YOUR FATHER WORKED FOR ME.... YES.... HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME WHAT I WANTED AND I KILLED HIM AND YOUR MOTHER! YES! I KILLED THEM, YES! I WAS THE ONE WHO CAUSED THE SCAR AT YOUR MOUTH!!!! YES!!!!" Takumi heart knotted hearing this; the person who had cared for him so dearly was the killer of his real parents? The person who had loved him so dearly was the reason why........ he was ugly? "Now of course after hearing...." Aku said, disrupting his thoughts, "I WILL NOT LET YOU LIVE!" Takumi's blood ran cold; his fath- no, his parent's murderer was after him. All the love over the years, all down the drain. He ran out of the front door, not stopping at any point to look back. He ran straight into the slums of the Sphere until he was right at the edge. Then he wept. After that, he went down a dark path; stealing, joining gangs and fighting. This all lead up to no one ever wanting him so he decided to end his life by jumping off the edge of the Sphere. Surprisingly, he survived and found himself resting on top of his beloved Queen. It was obvious to him that the ring had saved him. It was like it wasn't allowing him to die. He soon found out that his ring had powers (after his first encounter with a trash beast) and longed to know if he was the only one with powers such as his. But there he stayed for 7 months, in the heaps of trash, with little to no food, trash beast always after him and no one to love him. That was when Riva found him lying on a pile of trash at the brink of death. She was hesitant at first but took him in and took him to the cleaners camp. That's when Takumi meet the cleaners: people like him (and also changed his surname). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
