~Prologue~ Kai tried to control himself as he stared at her crumpled body. He could barely control himself. His teeth grew out in a sharp, jagged way. He ran towards her. He was out of control of his vampire and demon part. He was going to eat her. ~Chapter 1, Early Grave.~ Scarlett stared at her grandpa's grave. She felt stupid tears fall down her cheeks. She wiped them away, feeling foolish. She looked down at her black dress, and the black flower in her hair. She looked horrible, she was horrible. She hated her looks, no matter who told her she was beautiful. Not even her father, Sebastian. Her mother, Chloe told her multiple times too. She didn't believe any of it. She looked up, to catch a glimpse of a figure in the woods. She looked over, and the figure was gone. She shook her head, she was going crazy, wasn't she? Scarlett started to walk away when her mother grabbed her arm. “Scar.” Chloe said, her green eyes softening. Her mother was beautiful. She is a strikingly beautiful woman, her pale skin creating a luminous canvas that contrasts beautifully with her rich, chestnut brown hair. Falling in soft waves around her shoulders, her hair catches the light, revealing subtle golden undertones that enhance her overall grace. Her captivating green eyes sparkle like emeralds, exuding an air of mystery and warmth that draws people in. Their vibrant hue seems to shift subtly with her emotions, making her gaze both enchanting and soulful. Scarlett is a radiant young girl with striking red hair that cascades in playful curls around her shoulders, catching the sunlight and creating a fiery halo that draws the eye. Her sweet blue eyes shine like sapphires, brimming with curiosity and wonder, always reflecting the world around her. These enchanting eyes are framed by long lashes that flutter like butterfly wings, adding a touch of innocence to her expressive face. Scarlett was nothing like her mother. Her mother has pale skin, and Scarlett has olive. Her father was handsome too. He was muscular, and has strikingly red hair. He has eyes like Scarlett, and tan skin. She has no idea where she got her olive skin from.. “A friend of Hen's daughter is coming.” Her mother said. Scarlett perked up. Hen was her aunt. Olive skin, Brown hair, Brown eyes. She probably got the olive skin from her aunt, now that she thought about it. Scarlett nodded, and at home, There was a knock on the door. Her mother answered it to a pale skinned man, whose hair was half white, and half black. He had strange, dark red eyes. He wore a black turtleneck with no sleeves. He wore ripped jeans, and a cross necklace. Scarlett's eyes widened. He was beautiful. Chloe seemed to inspect him and welcomed him in. Scarlett stepped aside. “Welcome, Kai.” Her mother said, smiling her soft smile. Scarlett collected herself, and managed a smile. He was god-like. Her heart was pounding, but not from fear. Scarlett shook her head. She focused on smiling. Kai turned his head to Scarlett, and something in his expression changed for a moment. She shook it off. He spoke with a subtle British accent, his voice rich and deep. “Hello.” The moment the word left his lips, she felt her heart skip a beat. His dark red eyes locked onto hers, holding an intensity that made her smile softly in response. She couldn’t help but be drawn in by the warmth of his gaze, a mix of curiosity and intrigue swirling within her. “Hello, My name is Scarlett..But just call me Scar.” She said, hesitating. Kai simply nodded before approaching her with slow, deliberate steps. A gentle smile crossed his face as he reached out to pat her shoulder. Her breath caught in her throat at the unexpected contact. His hands were cold, almost chilling to the touch, sending a shiver down her spine. In that moment, she realized with a jolt that he wasn’t human. The revelation sent a wave of both fear and fascination coursing through her as she searched his eyes for answers.
