~Chapter 2, Realization.~ His eyes narrowed. Scarlett looked up, smiling, backing up. Kai realized she knew his secret. He had to k!ll her, or convince her to not tell, “Can we speak in private, Scar?” He asked, trying to keep his anger at bay. Scarlett nodded, and he guided her outside to the backyard of the house. A low growl rumbled in his throat as he implored, “Please, keep my secret.” His eyes were filled with desperation. Scarlett sighed in response, “Alright, but only if you tell me what you really are.” She pressed, her curiosity piqued. He took a deep breath, pondering how to convey such a heavy truth. “To put it simply, I’m both a demon and a vampire,” Kai confessed, searching her face for any hint of fear. Instead, he found only understanding reflected back at him. He gasped, now relaxed, “Thank you.” He smiled, and pulled her into a hug. He could hear her fast heartbeat. She seemed conscious about this fact. He chuckled at her beet red face. “You're cute.” Kai said, smiling. Scarlett seemed to turn more red. Kai chuckled, smiling, “You know, I'm surprised you realized I'm not human so fast.” His eyebrows raised in curiosity. Scarlett looked up at Kai, “It was your eyes.” She said, chuckling. Kai took that as a mental note, and he blinked, his eyes changing to deep blue. Scarlett held back a gasp. He laughed at the tiny gasp that came from her. He put his head on her shoulder, breathing on her neck. Scarlett shivered, “Isn't this..tempting?” Scarlett said, shivering from his cold breath. Kai let out a soft chuckle, “No. I'm more controlled than others. Although, If you happened to run into some of my friends…They wouldn't be able to resist your smell.” Kai said, eyes turning serious, “So, please, Scar..Stay away from me as much as possible.” He says, his eyes turning softer. “The hair, too.” Scarlett randomly blurted out. “What?” Kai said in confusion, “Your hair made it obvious you're not human. It's weird having half and half hair.” Scarlett chuckled, and Kai rolled his eyes, “Whatever. I personally like it.” Kai shook his head, and his hair turned brown, “Better?” He asked. He was more handsome to her than usual, he was sure of it. Scarlett nodded slowly.
