A tear ran down his cheek. He scrubbed it away angrily. They're gone. It's only him. Alone. Forever. More tears came. He let them come. Then, he heard Ragatha and Pomni's voices. He quickly held his breath and became invisible. As they drew closer down the hallway, he could make out their conversation. "-And then Zooble got taken apart by the gloinks?" "That was funny!" "And Jax got hit in the face?" Jax surpressed a smile, remembering Pomni's first day, with the gloink queen, and... he remembered Kaufmo. They passed him, unable to see the tears falling to the floor.
