The Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram (also known as the H-R Diagram) is a scatter plot of stars that shows the stars in relation on their luminosity and their temperature. The H-R Diagram was created over 100 years ago by Ejnar Hertzsprung and Henry Norris Russell. It shows a star's evolution, from a main sequence star to a red giant to a white dwarf (or sometimes a neutron star or black hole). This project contains 34 stars of every category, from white dwarfs to red supergiants. The scale on the bottom is a Morgan–Keenan (MK) scale. It uses the letters O, B, A, F, G, K, and M. O is the hottest while M is the coolest. Betelgeuse and Antares are both red supergiants, which is why they both fall in to both the red giant category and the supergiant category. #star #diagram #stars #space #cosmos #astronomy #astrology #stellar #interactive
