Been wanting to make an animal-centered role-play for a while now, and felt that adding yet another WCRP to the mix wouldn’t be the best way to contribute to the space efficiently (don’t get me wrong; I enjoy them, just that I think most people would prefer more a fresh take on the animal-rp scene). After workshopping some potential ideas, I came to the current proposal I will be presenting to you all: The Aviarchate Republic, a bird-focused role-play about a fantastical, dystopian world where the extinction of humans lead to the eventual rise of different avian societies. Premise: After the extinction of humans centuries ago, control of the skies fell into the talons of birds. Evolving the ability of language, art, and governance, a multitude of avian societies began to rise up within the old human cities that once laid abandoned. The most notable of these societies is The Aviarchate Republic: a pseudo-democracy led by highborn raptors and birds of prey, who maintain their power through propaganda and strict regulations on their subjects. They make their home up high in the towering, metallic buildings at the heart of the city, enforcing their laws and orders as seen fit. Below them are the elegant aristocratic birds, who live in the lower city ruins and make their living through administrative, bureaucratic, and artisan roles within the republic. Many serve as scribes, artists of both performance and creation, or servants to the higher classes, living a comfortable life above the worn-down world they neglect below them. Amongst those broken streets and shadowy, run-down buildings that make up the republic’s lands, live the lesser birds who make up the laboring class. They clean, scavenge, and haul the materials and food for the rest of the society. Although they are seen as expendable, talks have been going around about rebellions - birds who seek to change the ways of the republic for the better and unify the classes as one. But surely those are only rumors, right? Feel free to comment down below if the idea seems interesting, have some good suggestions, or if you have any questions about the premise in general. I’ll flesh out the more specific details once it gets a few pings, and I’m more than open to hear feedback! Ping List (20/20): @NoxenV @lynx40
