She stole from one of the most powerful magicians to sell the item. The powerful magician hadn't realized at first, but when he did, he decided to take her in, amused. She was taught a variety of spells, from the weakest to the strongest. Years went by, she grew, her magic grew, while her teacher began to suffer from old age. When that loss did come, she didn't break down. She was wise enough not to dwell on her master's death. After all, it was inevitable. Even if there were tears, they were tears of happiness. She began traveling and eventually met Nixie, a clueless being of water magic, trying to fit in. Carys helped Nixie understand the world and found it like a sister relationship. They still are with each other.
