the song's name is mirror lotus (please listen, it's peak) ive already posted this in the discussion page for this song in the vocaloid lyrics wiki, but im posting it here. Im bored so i wanna share my interpretation of this song! (even though i doubt anyone looks at discussion pages, especially for one on an obscure song) Firstly, what do lotuses represent? Well, according to Wikipedia, lotuses represent purity, chasity, eloquence, rebirth, and estranged love. Estranged love means love that was close, but was lost. I hope you read the post subject because it's obvious where I'm going with this. Nana and Lai have finally found a stable relationship... or so they thought. Lai is quickly losing interest and straying away Nana, and Nana isn't exactly sure if she's made the right choice for dating Lai, but she tries to push that voice aside. The next few lines that Lai says, (Ahh, please, my red hands can't cover the key that has you locked away) can be interpreted in two different ways. It could be Lai trying get Nana stay with him or Lai regretting his decisions. The next lines (Lotus pink in my lungs, in my lungs, Choking me with the lie that I've become) can be referring to Hanahaki disease, a trope in which flower petals grow in the lungs of someone with unrequited love. (source: TvTropes) It's clear to me on why Lai sings the first line, but Nana singing the other line is interesting. Maybe as time went by, her love slowly deteriorated into obsession? Their hearts are now broken, but now they feel different. They try to right their wrongs and get back together again. However, they keep going back into a cycle. They date, Lai loses interest, Nana's love deteriorates into obsession, they get together again, repeat. However, they soon realize the cycle they're in. All they really wanted was to have a relationship, but they can't truly have one if they can't fix their flaws. They're still clinging onto one hope that a relationship between them can work. After so much time, they soon lose all that hope, parting ways. However, they still don't feel free. Lai feels regret in straying away from Nana, and Nana wants to forget that Lai even existed, but she still feels an empty feeling in her heart, asking herself why she thought a relationship could work in the first place. The part at the end either represents them not being able to move on or is just there for aesthetic purposes. In short, Nana and Lai are in a relationship, the relationship doesn't work, they fall into a cycle of getting back together and falling apart, then the part ways, but still feel empty. I hope someone takes the time to read this, im not good at song interpretation, so I hope this makes sense!
