History of the Poppies ================== The red poppy was the among the first flower that was seen on the battlefield and it symbolizes the blood that was shed in the battle and hope for the future. The purple poppy was the flower that symbolizes the animals that served in the war. We are here today to honor not only the soilders that died in World War II, but all the soilders that have lost their lives for this country we are living on.
