20 Questions for Writers! (To Make You Think Hard) 1. Q: What got you interested in writing? A:i had a story in ma brain and so i wrote it down? Ig? Also i'm a big reader. 2. Q: Did you always like writing? No lol. Writing for school's the worst. 3: Q: What is the story that has just been sitting around in your brain, waiting to come to life? Is it just a vague idea that catches your heart, or is it already an elaborate story? A: Shadows and Sunshine is pretty elaborate, but i have one more that's mostly an idea. 4. Q: What makes a story catch your heart? A: idk what this means, but i like historical fiction, mystery, and fantasy ofc. 5. Q: Do you think that there's a pattern that all good stories follow, or are they all different? They're all different, but there are some tropes that are way overused. 6. Q: Did you ever cry over your own writing? Laugh over it? Shiver over it? A: yes lol 7. Q: What do you despise in stories? A: big blocks of text with little to no description or dialogue. I love dialogue. Idk why. 8. Q: What makes a story bad (in your opinion)? A: bad writers, no plot, weird grammar or wording. 9. Q: Which is more important in a story: emotional depth, or an interesting plot? A: plot, but definitely need some interpersonal connection. 10. Q: Is there a specific thing your stories tend to center around? (Ex: setting, personality of character, genre, ect.) Not-quite-humans, queer people, disabled people, etc. also fantasy 11. A: i'm horrible at finding theme, but i hat3 "power of friendship" and "finding yourself" and "all i needed was you" -type stories. 14. Q: What are the cliches you hate the most? A: see above. Also schoolkid stereotypes. 15. Q: Is there a way to make those cliches not so bad? Do you think you could do it if you set out to try? A: if the plot actually has depth and it's not the only message? Like One Of Us Is Lying, there was actual plot and character development. 16. Q: What is the genre you hate the most? A: realistic fiction. 17. Q: What if you tried to write it? What would happen? A: i have, and it ended up as fantasy. 18. Q: What makes a character lovable? A: if someone can relate to the character? Or if the character is just objectively cute and innocent. 19. Q: Is it possible for a non-lovable character to make you care deeply about them? A: yes. 20. Q: How can you make your story touch your reader and impact their life? A: by putting a "do now" (idk what to call it) at the back of the book? Idk
