The following is an overview on the Lore changes my story has from the original Erin Hunter warrior cat books. Reading it will aid you in better understanding the comics that will follow this and will allow you to pick up on some subtleties of the storyline. You may always refer back to this page. TRIBE SETUP Same as the original Erin Hunter warrior books Leader, deputy, Medicine cat, warriors, queens, elders, apprentices, kits. Apprentices still receive the suffix of paw, but leaders will have the suffix “Sky” rather than “Star” CULTURE While all the cats do receive suffixes according to their position, most will be called by their prefix. (ie. rather than “Feathersong”, just “Feather”) To use a cat’s full name is a sign of respect. All leaders are called by their full name (ie. Dusksky) Tribes are more friendly to each other than we see in the og stories Borders are muddled, which can cause tension and disputes over prey There is no set gathering location (such as Fourtrees). The meeting place alternates each month, cycling through each tribe. However, it is always at the outskirts of the burial grounds BURIALS (SKYTRIBE) Dead are buried under saplings Seen as a continuation of life and a gift to the tribe after death An older, larger tree means the death occurred longer ago (as one would expect) The biggest five trees (One on each corner of each tribe’s territory) are the five original founders of the tribes (Sun, Earth, Rain, Root, & Leaf) Kits are buried under flowers or small flowering plants, emphasizing beauty and fragility and filling in the spaces between tress The burial sites are very sacred, no hunting, foraging, living, or fighting is allowed Of course, not all trees are graves, just the trees in the specific points of the tribes The five founder trees create a circle in the center of the tribes, which is where leaders and medicine cats go to commune with Skytribe These five trees are only to be touched by nature and medicine cats, even leaders must only place their noses to the grass near their respective tree Evil cats are buried under rocks to ensure they never escape or continue to grow The bigger the rock, the worse/more destructive the cat FIVE TRIBES Sun: dense forest Rain: Forest and rivers Leaf: Lush plains Root: Rocky terrain, caves, mountains Earth: Dry plains TRIBAL LAW (WARRIOR CODE) All life is scared. Prey will be killed only to be eaten, kits will be protected and nurtured until their time to serve the thribe, and elders will be respected and cared for through any ailments. Living burials are not to be disgraced. Medicine cats may commune through them, and they may be honored through visits and tending, but no tribe cat is to hunt, forage, or fight on these lands. The tribes are the five pillars of the sky. Relations must be kept civil and each must protect the other, if such is necessary, but boundaries are not to be forgotten and all loyalties must remain with each cat's respective tribe. Leaders, Deputies, and Medicine cats must serve and protect their tribe’s interests to the best of their ability without trespassing on any of the other laws. Tribal cats are to obey the word of their leaders, deputies, and medicine cats to the best of their ability without trespassing on any of the other laws. The tribes must be led with dignity and efficiency. Leaders are not to delay in choosing deputies, and deputies must take over the position of leader if the prior one passes or is in any other way unable to complete their duties effectively.
