(. perhaps a one-sided crush from (name) > cradle, while cradle wholeheartedly adores them as a friend and plays into their crushing for the sake of keeping their interest.) continued from instructions ——— ⭒ ——— 2. ❝ ICARUS ❞ (0/?) flying too close to the sun. while cradle is the icarus in this situation, both are being burned in the aftermath. cradle finally finds the sun to his moon that he was looking for — someone beautifully themself (unlike him, a false sun and a liar) and genuinely adoring of him because they think he is good. cradle latches onto this pure love and grows dependent on its reliability. a relationship that feels like enough, that he is enough, yet it's consuming them without his realization. the world seems to stop and fade away for cradle as this person becomes their whole world — every waking thought belongs to them, and it damages his other relationships as he becomes completely obsessed with the other. he'd act overly flirty and playfully possessive of the other, a far cry from the controlled character he usually plays. perhaps it's endearing at first, but it becomes overwhelming when this starry-eyed and lovestruck version of cradle begins to affect their life negatively, making them dread seeing him and even start worrying if this relationship is hurting cradle as well. cradle never meant any harm, but for once, he's not the one running first. he gets too close, and as if realizing his obsession, the other runs for the sake of preserving their own well-being, as well as cradle's sanity. cradle never quite recovers or moves on, his gaze forever lingering on the other, but respectful enough to not step too far over the line ever again. that doesn't mean he won't try, though. (. perhaps a one-sided crush from cradle > (name), where (name) truly loves cradle as a close friend and confidante, but would feel a little nervous and awkward as cradle begins to act like they're more than friends.) (. despite what happens, (name) still deeply cares for cradle and would never want any harm or heartbreak to fall upon him, but understands that leaving him is healthiest for the both of them (even if cradle is devastated by it).) 3. ❝ MINOTAUR ❞ (1/?) coming back again and again to what hurts. cradle meets someone who seems, without any reason in cradle's perspective, to hate him, which goes against his entire belief system that his worth depends on how much love he can get for himself. and because of his desperation to prove this unfair perception of him wrong, he keeps coming back. perhaps his unspoken obsession with proving himself worthy of this person's love is noticed by them, and it becomes a game. whether it's because they enjoy the thrill of being chased, or having a pathetic lapdog at their feet, they become the siren in this dynamic as they give cradle what he wants only to snatch it away again. perhaps their lack of concern for him slowly grows into pity, even guilt, over time as they both change as people. their relationship can go from an entertaining game to the slow blossoming of bitter love, but even if cradle ends up achieving his goal, his siren finally falling in love with him as much as he is with them, after being toyed with enough for a lifetime, it never truly erases the pain and insecurities that came from this obsession. (. a bit of a (two-sided?) toxic trainwreck of a relationship that could have the chance for cradle and (name) to finally be on equal standing one day. even then though, scars never heal.) 4. ❝ THE POET AND THE MUSE ❞ (2/?) for once, the poet becomes the muse. someone who somehow, despite all of cradle's carefully crafted walls, notices that there's more to cradle underneath the surface. perhaps they begin as someone who despises cradle's seemingly obnoxious confidence, but it slowly dissolves into something… quiet, and real, as they notice that cradle lives in a fake delusion spun and woven by his own paws. perhaps they are similar — both forcing who they really are into the shadows and letting someone who isn't them take their place. sometimes, only those who know your pain can hold the key to healing. (. romantic would be cute for this, but i can definitely see platonic soulmates-esque relationship as well!) (. a relationship where cradle may be more inclined to try and avoid (name), or even be subtly antagonistic to, because of his discomfort of knowing that there's someone who sees what he tries so hard to hide.)
