Such a small thing, a button. It was gifted to me by a friend. But I was led to wonder, do I own this button? Did she own this button? Well, who made the button? A factory, probably. Well, then does it belong to the factory? In that case, was it stolen by the one who owns the factory? Do they own the factory? Or do the workers who made it own the factory? Does the one who claims to own the factory sell something that doesn't belong to him? In that case, does the store which buys the button then still not the owner, as the real owner is the factory? A factory cannot consent to having its creations taken away, so does that mean the owner is a theif? What about those who eat meat? Chicken, for example. The chicken's life is stolen by the butcher. It did not consent to this. Does the chicken still own its life? When we buy the chicken from, say, McDonald's, are we consuming what the owner has unwillingly given to us, the owner itself?
