Welcome to Insula Litorum Aeternalium! Here is the general need-to-know and the FAQ for the roleplay. TABLE OF CONTENTS (will be updated) ; i. Who are we? ii. FAQ WHO ARE WE? ; ILA is a semi-fantasy roleplay based on an island and centered primarily around three clans; SerpentClan, GladeClan, and TundraClan. Now, the island is huge, so the territory of each group is large. SerpentClan cats reside in valleys and gorges, having a wide expanse of tunneling under the mountains. GladeClan cats, as their name suggests, live in the forestry and meadows of the island. And, ironically, TundraClan cats live on rough, tundra-like land. During the makings of this roleplay, a lot of cultures and traditions were looked at and combined to make this as unique as possible. For a few, I included my own Hawaiian heritage into the islands and the human’s way of life during the Before and my love for the Mexican holiday holiday Dia de los Muertos through the “spiritual animal guides” and the spin-off of the holiday called Mortuus Honor Diem. Now, you may be wondering,”What about the fantasy aspects?” If you’ve participated in any traditionally based warrior cats roleplay or read the Warriors series, you know that the entire thing is fantasy. For example, StarClan and the Dark Forest. There’s no group of cats in the sky that can communicate with the cats on Earth. But with fantasy roleplays, fantasy can refer to many different components. Whether that be entirely new species of cats, or just a fantasy setting. Which is why we have included several things to fit the theme. For one, the animuses. This concept can be seen in a popular series called Wings of Fire. I’m not entirely sure where the term originated from, but we’re basing our animuses around it. Essentially, ILA animus cats are cats that develop “magic” or abilities that allow them to do a number of things. Then we have mutations. As the cats start to reproduce and make “new” species, many of them develop mutated genes that they pass down to their offspring. Cats aren’t the only ones who can develop mutations, however. So do some of their predators and prey. Traits can only be acquired through rolling (whether you win or trade for a trait role token) and traits differ from group to group. Both of these topics will be expanded more in future projects, but you can also ask anything you want about them! And that’s essentially us! As the roleplay goes on, you will learn more about the roleplay and we’ll update info both here and in the lorebook. FAQ ; Q ; How does rolling work? A ; A lot of factors of ILA rely on rolling. That includes litter-related aspects, animus abilities and special traits, and danger (e.g., crossing borders, fighting). Each rolling project will go more in depth as the time progresses. Q ; A ;
