Oops... My hand slipped. I've actually been playing around with the idea that Bloodshot Caliber could have a Specitatio -- the human counterpart of a Mirror Pony. Ironically, when I first came up with the idea of Violet, Violet was supposed to be a second reincarnation of Clockgear Whooves, and Bloodshot was supposed to be a second reincarnation of Time Vortex; Clockgear was the one with a Mirror Pony. In fact, the original sketch of Vi was just Clockgear with a different hairstyle. That was before I made Vi and Bloodshot into completely different characters -- the detectives hunting down Shattered Rift (/evil Clockgear). The Shattered Rift story arc was meant to take place in Victorian-era ponyville, but I shifted it to the modern-day time period. While Time and Clockgear had a very loving and conservative relationship, I wanted two character with a love-HATE relationship -- the main reason I made these four completely different characters. I wanted a feminist female protagonist with a protective male protagonist. Their personalities clashed so perfectly that I was BOUND to pair them up. Clockgear was also originally the main character in the Shattered Rift story arc, but then I changed it to Time Vortex, then Bloodshot (while Vi would be the sidekick love-interest), before deciding for the story to revolve around BOTH Bloodshot and Vi (so that Vi could be a much more important character). This was when I came up with the idea of Bitter Rose, the greatest detective in the world who could occasionally help Bloodshot and Vi. This then transformed from the mystery of the Shattered Rift murders to the story of Yin and Yang -- the older siblings of Bitter Rose. I then branched off from there to create an entirely new universe filled with crime rather than universal problems, which is something more people can relate to and the type of stories I grew up watching on TV. Vi needed a best friend, and another OC, Lilac Blossom filled in the supporting character role. And even more so, I was grabbed by the Fallout Equestria fandom. Vi and Bloodshot could easily be used as characters for multiple situations, and they were both perfect for the post-apocalyptic theme of Fallout. I was able to adapt their regular backstories to fit the theme of Fallout, and it was pieced together so perfectly. When I wrote the first few chapters of Blood and Flowers (wattpad fanfic), Lilac became a main character as well, and I made Bloodshot a very protective character like I had portrayed him in the original Clockverse, but this time, I exaggerated it. His past was more broken than it had been in the Clockverse, so I branched off from that desire to protect Vi that I wanted to make a slightly 'yandere' version of him. This separate personality manifested itself into someone who saw Vi as an object, a trophy, rather than a human being/pony -- something to lock up and keep safe from the outside world. An unhealthy attachment. But how could I make an obsessive character without going all-out on making him an antagonist or purely evil? That's when I reverted back to my idea on the Mirror Pony. I was able to give sympathy to Clockgear, and I could use the same technique on Bloodshot. All I needed was to piece together another story arc, including how he got this alter-ego and how the group would cure it.
