Undertale/Deltarune Combined Fates: Chapter 1 Part 1 - The Dream and the door. (Note: this was based of an idea for a rp of the same name that I created. You can check out the studio, but I will not start the role play. Apologies. Another thing, this is partly based off of Twin Runes, an amazing comic. It is on tumblr, under the name Akane and carrd, linked inside the project. I recommend the carrd link if you don’t want to see comments or anything and just read the comic. I own nothing of the comic, nor am I associated with it.) A small child made their way up a mountain for an unknown goal. Their name was Frisk. They had heard the stories of children coming the mountain and never returning. That didn’t deter them. They were determined to climb this mountain. Then, they fell down. After a little bit, they woke up on a pile of golden flowers. They rub their head, hearing an annoyed, impatient voice, and a hazy figure that slowly gets clearer. It’s a ghost. Of another human child, no less. They’re wearing a green shirt with a singular yellow stripe. “Finally. Someone interesting. For once.” “Who the heck are you?!?” “Greetings. I am Chara. And I’m your ghost companion.” The ghost said calmly. “…What?!?” “I knew you wouldn’t take this well…anyway, I might as well explain a bit more. You’ve heard of the humans that have climbed the mountain, correct? I was the first. And you’re the first one to actually be able to see me.” “…So, you aren’t evil..?” “No! Wait, is it because of the knife? I just like knives, alright?!” Chara snapped, subconsciously twirling a knife in their hand. They seemed to have died with it on them, because the knife was as transparent as they were. “Anyway, I told you my name, what’s yours?” “…Frisk.” The child said, slightly uncomfortable with having Chara around. “Well, Frisk, looks like we’re in it together now. AREN’T WE, PARTNER?” Chara changed their face to a much more creepier one, her eyes hollow and distorted. And- Then, Frisk woke up in the Snowdin Inn, breathing heavily. Just a flashback. Or…partly a nightmare? They weren’t sure. “(Chara..? Are you there?)” They asked quietly, looking around. Chara was floating above them, looking concerned. “Frisk. Are you alright? It seems like you had a nightmare.” “…Mostly a flashback. When we first met. Then you got scarier.” Chara looked surprised, her eyes widening for a moment as she looked away. “…I saw it. I’m not like that, you know. I don’t want you…to be scared of me, after…the…the…run.” “Which one?” “That one genocide run. Where I…” “Took my soul. I remember. But somehow, after that…they…don’t seem to have control over me anymore.” “By they, you mean…it, yes?” “Yeah.” “I will admit, I have noticed a change. I have checked as well, and it truly seems they don’t have control over you anymore.” “How were you able to check..?” “By doing this.” Chara held her hand out, as Frisk’s soul appeared. Frisk instinctively reached out, but Chara pulled it away. “…No. They could gain control back, and do it again.” “Chara, you’re being controlling. It’s my soul.” Chara closed her eyes at the word controlling. She clenched her hand into a fist, Frisk’s soul disappearing. She opened her eyes. “…Do not. Use that word. In front of me. Is that understood?” Frisk frowned. “…Understood.” They didn’t like the way Chara was acting lately. She just wanted to protect them, but she was showing a bit of a more…sinister side to her. She was acting a bit controlling, even if her motives were, at least to Frisk, clearly protective. Chara spoke again, her tone less cold than the moment before. “Frisk, can we head to Waterfall? I have something to show you there.” “…Oh, sure, Chara.” “Alright, now come on.” Chara floated off, at quite a fast pace. Frisk followed right behind, the two reaching Waterfall not long after. Chara floated on, stopping suddenly at an unfamiliar hallway. There was a large grey door. After a moment, Chara turned corporeal, examining the door closely. “…I haven’t seen this door in years. Not since I was alive.” Chara looked over at Frisk, whose soul was visibly glowing. “Mine had reacted too. This wasn’t what I was planning to show you, but…considering things, it wouldn’t hurt to check out. Especially because I simply walked past it all those years ago, simply dismissing my soul’s reaction to it.” “I don’t know…” “Oh, come on!” Chara kicked open the door and dragged her and Frisk through the door. Frisk made it through, but Chara was pulled away, sucked into the all too familiar Void. She was no longer corporeal. “SERIOUSLY?!…Oh shoot-“ Chara quickly realized Frisk wasn’t with them. And she had no idea how to get out of the Void at the moment. She attempted to open the menu, which immediately closed. “…Uh oh. This isn’t good. Frisk better be careful…” (TO BE CONTINUED. END OF Part 1!) Look, I know this was short. It’s kinda meant to be. Part 2 will be (hopefully) longer. NEXT:
Please note, Chara uses she/they pronouns in this story. This is simply a headcanon I have. Frisk uses the standard they/them. Thank you to Toby Fox for creating Undertale, and Deltarune. (Deltarune will be part 2 for those of you wondering.) Thanks to Akane on tumblr for Twin Runes, which serves as some inspiration for this.
