Hi! I'm Mayday (or May. or Dex). I use he/any pronouns. I'm in high school. I love making art, listening to (loud) music, sewing Things onto other Things, and shoving as much information into my head as I can in the short amount of time I am able to. I've been part of the hive since May 2024, so around a year and a half. - Why would I be a good manager? 1) I'm good at solving problems. I think things through very thoroughly and I don't jump to conclusions. Despite this, I don't always make the right decisions. But being able to see all sides of a situation can at least help others to solve problems effectively. 2) I don't cause problems much. In order to not cause arguments, I don't always openly share my opinion about contentious issues. I do my best to quell conflicts, or at least not make them worse. - Why would I not be a good manager? Talking to people is hard for me. It's difficult for me to understand tone and sometimes it's hard to tell if people are joking or not. Asking people for help is difficult. Recently, I've been able to get some help with communication. It's still a struggle but slightly less so. - Unique things I would bring to the position My ability to view situations from multiple perspectives would be an asset. I would also love to give riddles. - What I would improve about the Gaehive I would love to provide help with homework. Not cheating, but explaining concepts without giving away answers. The option to ask for help could be beneficial. - My perception of manager responsibility Managers have to enforce rules, watch the hive, fix problems, spread information, understand what does and does not work to keep things running, deescalate conflicts, communicate effectively with other managers and curators, and listen to suggestions from other managers and curators, all while being criticized by thousands of kids. No matter what managers do, someone is going to be angry, which puts managers under more pressure. - Recommendations @--silly-goose--. Hilda has nearly been a manager before. Her positivity and experience on the Hive would make her a great manager. @hot655. I've never seen Squirt break a rule, and he has good ideas for ways to improve the Hive.
