I'm Maverick. I'm a trans guy who is questioning his gender and I am currently unlabeled in sexuality. (I like to say I'll like who I like :P). I'm in the age range of 15-17, and I have been a part of the hive for maybe a bit over two years now? Unfortunately, due to certain circumstances at home, I was inactive over this summer. I am back now though, and I am very excited to help this community grow and develop going into 2026! This is a new account, so that is why it says I have only been on for 6 months. Please ask for my old account . Here's a few things that set me apart! - I am currently in high school, but I am in a curriculum that offers classes specialized in general medical knowledge. (Think Human Body Systems, or Psychology.) I'm looking to continue my medical studies into college as well. - I am currently going through the process of questioning my gender. While that seems like a basic thing to go through as a queer individual, I do believe it would be good for some new members to see its alright to be uncertain of your identity and that even some people in charge go through it too! - I technically am also unlabeled with my sexuality. People don't necessarily need to identify as one certain thing. Labels are meant to fit you, not you trying to fit it. It's okay if you just accept the general identity of queer and embrace that rather than one thing in particular. A few things about me: - I adore Minecraft, music, and cooking food in general! Drawing is a huge hobby of mine. I live in the eastern US, so my time zone is EST. I am on intermittently through the days, and I typically log on and off from 8 am- 10 pm EST. Again, I will hop onto the hive whenever I have free time. - I understand I'm not one of the more prominent people on the hive anymore since I had to take my leave. On top of that, I might not be as caught up in the history of the hive due to the fact I am not a classic member either. I am also in no shape or form 100% educated on everything about our community, or other communities as well. I will slip up from time to time, and I know it will happen. Despite these facts, one thing I can promise all of you is I'm totally willing and ready to learn. If there's anything I do wrong and someone tells it to me, I will gladly take that as a learning experience and even do research on the topic so I know more about it and how to address it respectfully and with kindness. - Something I'd love to do if I became a manager (or even beforehand!) is to draw a thumbnail for everyone who requests their name be put up for their birthdays. It could make the whole experience 100 times more personalized and notable for those who might not get the best birthdays at home. - Respect is something I notice, and other people have noticed, we lack in the hive. More prominently, I see managers get overwhelmed with dozens and dozens of messages asking to be added to the studio. So, that's why I propose a system be put in place where a studio is made for new members to politely ask to be added, and then managers can reply to the comment of the person they added so that the other managers know that the new curator has been addressed. While we already have an 'introduction' for new members, I feel this system will make the system less jarring for managers. It would make things easier all around and the new studio could be checked hourly so that new members aren't missed. Even if this isn't something that is a prominent problem in the hive, it is still something that some might consider annoying. :) Being a manager of the hive means being open to constructive criticism, being respectful despite having other emotions in response to messages on the hive, and also being flexible. The hive can get messy sometimes, and our managers are the spine of trying to get things back in place. So, being a manager means to meet every challenge with grace and humility, even if it feels like the other person is responding with hate and anger. I genuinely recommend . Not only would it be good to have an ally on the team, but also he has been prevalent for years. I remember when I first joined the hive, I thought they were a manager already! I believe he would be a key asset for us to grow in the hive. I also recommend Hilda, or . She has such a positive energy that is sometimes lacking in the hive and it's so refreshing to see. While I don't know her all that well, she's very underrated and I think would be a wonderful addition to the team. that should be it! I hope this was easy to understand and if there's any questions, feel free to let me know. good luck to everyone and remember to take care of yourselves <3 Vick is out B)
summary: I am Maverick, age range 15-17. I am in EST. I am a trans guy and unlabeled sexuality-wise. I have been on for over 2 years. I am in a medical program and am questioning my gender, which sets me apart a bit from others. A few things I'd want to do for the hive is draw thumbnails for birthday shoutouts and also implicate a new way to add new members to the hive. To me, being a manager is showing humility and respect even if you don't agree with some people of the hive. The motto is, in fact, a "safe space for all." I might not be as seasoned as other managers, or as knowledgeable with other communities, but I am ready to learn and I am 100% enthusiastic about this hive! I like to think I stay quite respectful. My recommendations are @--silly-goose-- and @BetterKeepCalm .
