Arrow keys or WASD to move the submarine. L to toggle the light! Space to release or attach the winch, up/down controls to raise/lower the winch. Click fish to get money, upgrade your sub, repeat. Try to get to the bottom of the caves! TurboWarp is recommended, especially for generating the map. However, the loading screen doesn't work unless you enable "Warp Timer" in Advanced Settings! https://turbowarp.org/1243515361/fullscreen I'm making this project for a game jam hosted by my school's computer science club.th
Sound effects: pixabay.com -------------------------- Changelog: 0.8.1: - Added some music. 0.8.0: - Added a win condition, reaching the bottom of the cave system. - Made 5 types of fish spawn naturally. - Click them to get money (I don't have time to make something more complicated). 0.7.3: - Added support for fish entities! - The HUD displays now flash red when close to their limits. 0.7.2: - You can now upgrade your battery capacity in the menu. - Going out of comms range or running out of battery will force you to buy a new submarine. 0.7.1: - Added a battery. - Doesn’t do anything yet, but the thruster and light decrease the battery when running. 0.7.0: - Added an upgrade system! - Press E at the top of the winch to open the upgrade menu. - You start with $100 which can be spent on upgrading the thruster, light, and comms range. - Comms range doesn’t do anything yet. - Pressing E when in the water pauses the game. 0.6.0: - Added a ship to the map at the ocean's surface. - The submarine now spawns on a winch attached to the ship. - Press the up or down controls to raise and lower the winch. - Press space to release and attach the winch when it's at the bottom. 0.5.4: - Made the submarine’s light more directional. - Added gravel to the bottom of shallow caves to make them blend into the seafloor better. 0.5.3: - The caves now go down to their final planned depth of 1000. - Added an orange tint around the screen that appears starting at depth 600. - Added camera shake starting at depth 700 or so (in the future this will be an accessibility option) - Tweaked the number and frequency of noodle caves. 0.5.2: - Added a lot more noodle caves! The cave system now goes down to a depth of 600 or so. 0.5.1: - Added 2 thin noodle caves which are too narrow to navigate with the current sub. - When I add smaller submarines they will be useful. - Made cheese caves less common. 0.5.0: - Added noodle caves! (I’m using the Minecraft names for caves here, the previous ones were cheese caves) - Unlike the large caverns of cheese caves, noodle caves are narrow tunnels which wind from one cave to another. - Currently only 4 noodle caves are generated, and these serve to connect the sea to the shallow caves. They go from the seabed down to depth 250, but can stop earlier. Each one is guaranteed to intersect a cave. - Also added a new rock, basalt! (the original rock was limestone) - The transition happens from depth 100 to 120, and then it’s purely basalt if you go deeper.
