"This is breaking news!" June groaned, picking up the remote to turn off the TV. "There are kids called 'therians' that are across the entire world. But in this town," The news person laughed evilly, " they are BANNED." June jumped at the word, phantom fur bristling. No! June picked up her phone, frantically texting her friends. Jake responded almost immediately, his reply short and precise: ~Get over to my house~ June slipped her mask on, taking a bag of candy, just in case. With a frantic gasp, she slipped out the door, sprinting down the walkway with an urgent meaning. June was panting as she skidded to a stop, knocking on his door weakly. Jake stepped out the second she stopped, handing June a bag of trail-mix. "Let's go. I texted the others; they'll meet us at the park." June took a deep breath, got into her quadding position, and sprinted even faster than she had before. Jake ran as fast as she did, barely losing a breath as they stopped near the entrance. All the kids from Friday were at the park, and they followed Justin as he beckoned to them. June let out a sigh of exhaustion, legs and arms weak as she treaded through the under-growth. Jake finally had to stop and carry her on his back. June took more breaths, her breathing slowing as the undergrowth rustled loudly. June perked up, climbed off Jake's back, and crawled over to a ridge. In the middle of the clearing, there was a stone hollow. \IN\ that hollow, there were four kids, who were leaping around. June cried out as she slipped, and the therians around her flooded into the hollow, Jake catching her. The kids around her jumped, startled, as they stared at June and the other therians.
