Black Ops 4 is probably one of the most hated COD games to date... and for good reasons...ish... because, *I AM A BLACK OPS 4 DEFENDER* The biggest reasons people tend to hate on this game, is due to it lacking a campaign, and the drastic changes made in zombies. I play COD *only* for the zombies, I like shooters... but not in that extent... I could yap on and on- Zombies is much more special to me and carries an experience no other games share- NOW- lets get into this. Black Ops 4 Zombies drastically changes the mode... well, to some people.. it feels *too* drastic. The perk system has entirely changed, instead of the old system where the perks were already on the map, and you chose them accordingly, but people would *always* get Juggernog and Quick Revive, as they felt mandatory to survive. In BO4, you instead choose the four perks that you have on the map, you already have 4 hits on default (in classic mode) so Juggernog was removed. you have self revives, so Quick Revive was reworked to give faster health regen (along with its faster revive mechanic in co-op) People complain about the perk loadout system due to it quote on quote "restricting gameplay options" because you are choosing 4 perks you have in the game already, and moreso people getting angry at the removal of Jugg. People need to learn to STOP complaining... The BO4 perk system in actuality, gives *MORE* variety in your gameplay... there are EIGHTEEN perks in this game, you could run a campier perk setup in one game, and a rushier one in the next. There are perk setups for nearly every playstyle. and as for perks, Widows Wine, a perk I DESPISED in BO3, was reworked to Winters Wail, which works as a perk, SOOOO much better. To those complaining about there being restrictions to having only 4 perks in a game... run Secret Sauce... BOOM, problem solved... you can buy a random perk like the Wunderfizz in BO3, and not only that, if you already bought a Secret Sauce perk from that slot, you can buy it AGAIN to change for a different one...pfft, good riddance... "Perk Restriction"? You have *so many* options. The next talking point is the point system, people complain that in BO4 the point system changed from the traditional one, points from zombies are definite and are always 90 points... What people don't get is, in a game like BO4 where you're mostly focused on quests, it isn't really a bad thing... and the points are still skill based... You earn 30 extra points for a headshot, and *60* for a melee, you can still optimize for more points... The only reason the new point system doesn't work, is that it drowns out and makes the *MODERN* zombies system worse... BO4 still uses the classic elements of zombies with a 4 perk limit and progression, whereas Cold War and later uses a generic system, zero perk limit, there are no unique map elements, boss spam, and you can just use the weapon you started with the whole game... it's boring. BO4 let's the point system work well, *yes* you can choose your starting weapon, but no matter what you still are reliant on wonder weapons and other guns because of the way starting weapons are handled... rather than you quite literally choosing any freaking gun you want in Cold War and ahead removing the sense of actual progression. It upsets me that BO4 got the hate it did for trying new things, the maps are genuinely enjoyable and fun to play, and the system is really interesting and brings tons of variety and doesn't stray far from what makes classic zombies what it is. If BO4 didn't get the hate it did... guess what... we wouldn't have the terrible modern systems in zombies that we have now :) that and... blame Warzone. Give Black Ops 4 a chance... a GENUINE chance... because I surprised myself so much playing this game through... fun easter eggs, astonishing maps, and in my opinion... really good high rounds due to the amount of options given to the player, camping *or* training. No one understands this diamond in the rough... it's too bad it got so much hate... and the story was messed up...
