Ok I know I’m not on my main so usually I wouldn’t do properly capitalized titles like these but LOOK. THIS THING TOOK ME. 29 HOURS. I DESERVE THIS OK (/lh actually though it did take me 29 hours I’m gonna collapse) After a little over two months, the Cricketcry ref is FINALLY done oh thank god. This was such a ride to work on, but in the end it was soso worth it. Cricketcry as a character / oc is extremely important to me, so I really wanted to do them justice with a fully up-to-date refsheet :] I think it’s a MASSIVE improvement from their old ref too, which was actually made nearly a year ago / November 24th 2024! The last one took around 13 and a half hours, meanwhile this took 29, meaning that this one doubles the amount of time taken. IN MY DEFENSE THOUGH My art process has gotten WAY longer since then, and also this ref has a lot more content too. The old ref had about 5 additional ‘versions’, with one being a full, one being a chibi double-sideview, and three being busts. With this current ref though, it has two fulls, one chibi double-sideview, and two busts, not to mention the additional things like the playlist, eyeshots, and disability flags (which fun fact I actually added last minute since there was this big gaping awkward space where they are now and it worked out way better than expected) Another improvement from the old ref is design accuracy though, because my GOD I am so unhappy with how inaccurate the old one is. Not even mentioning the fact that the Afterlife version in that one isn’t the current design and that the Seraph Scars version didn’t even EXIST yet, as a whole Cricketcry just,, doesn’t really look that right in it. The body type is completely wrong, the fur is way too fluffy-looking and not loose like it’s supposed to be, Cricketsong doesn’t even have their little lashes, and the list goes on. Overall though, very proud of how this ended up looking!! Now whenever I get Cricketcry art I don’t have to make like three separate disclaimers and provide a whole other image to the artist just so they can draw this cat accurately GRJFHDKSJSK
