my entry into @WarriorCatsQueen1234 's contest :) my thoughts on the kpop demon hunters movie: it wasn't horrible. I doubt that i am the target audience which is probably why i didn't enjoy the movie very much, but it wasn't bad. the characters were fairly well written, the music was alright (not really my style, but it's not TOO painful to listen to i guess), and the plot served its purpose. i like how the huntrix girls were allowed to be women. what i mean is they weren't like a lot of superheroes in the way that they weren't always written to be constantly saved by male counterparts, and they also didn't have to be constantly girlbosses who could do no wrong. they were allowed to be silly, and eat food (IMPORTANT) and they were allowed to have flaws while still being really cool, strong, powerful, and good friends with each other. i would have liked more of a criticism of the kpop industry and the terrible conditions a lot of idols have to go through and the objectification of entertainers under our capitalist society and perhaps commentary on parasocial relationships, BUT this is a kids movie set in a fictional world where this problems dont seem to be present, and that's ok. i'm glad people enjoy it, and the characters are fun to draw.
