This is Hollow Knight in Scratch! It is a fully playable version of Hollow Knight's first two areas, the Forgotten Crossroads and Greenpath, including enemies, bosses, grubs, and shops. I may or may not eventually expand this to include more areas, enemies, and features. Enjoy! See below for instructions on controls and gameplay features. ---STORY--- If you haven't played Hollow Knight, it is a metroidvania set in a ruined underground kingdom of bugs. Most of the inhabitants have succumbed to the infection, a dangerous plague that has spread throughout the kingdom, corrupting bugs. ---CONTROLS--- You can view and change controls in the options menu, accessible from the main menu and the pause menu. To open the pause menu press P. The controls are by default set to the default Hollow Knight controls (arrows to move, Z for jump, X for nail, A for focus). You can use the WASD preset in the controls menu if you prefer WASD. ---HOW TO PLAY--- --The Nail-- Attack enemies and objects with your nail to hurt them. The direction you are facing determines which direction you swing your nail. If you look up while swinging your nail, you will swing upwards. Same for downwards. If you hit spikes or an enemy while attacking downward, you will bounce a small distance off of them. This can be used to reach places you can't ordinarily reach. --Your Health-- The five white masks in the upper left are your health. If you touch an enemy, it will hurt you, removing one mask. When you reach zero masks, you will die. --Soul-- Hitting an enemy with your nail will give you a small amount of soul. Soul is contained within the large circle in the upper-left. When your soul vessel is one-third full, you can focus the soul to heal one mask. If your soul vessel is not full enough, it will be gray. When it gets to one-third full, it turns white. --Geo-- Geo is this game's form of currency. You can get it from enemies and geo rocks. Spend this at shops (unlocked later in the game) to get items and upgrades. --NPCs-- There are several NPCs (non-player characters) around the world. Talk to them by pressing up They may give you helpful information, or offer their services. --Benches-- Sit on a bench by pressing up. Get off a bench by pressing down. Sitting on a bench will restore your health. When you die, you will return to the last bench you sat on. --Grubs-- You can find grubs trapped in jars around the world. Save them by breaking their jars. The Grubfather, located in the upper left of the Crossroads, will reward you for saving the Grubs. --The Shade-- When you die, you will leave an dark stain of your previous life on the world, which takes the form of a black ghost known as the Shade. You must return to where you last died and defeat your Shade to get back your geo. --Charms-- As you explore the world, you may come across charms. Sit on a bench to equip them. These charms will give you helpful powers, such as gaining more soul or attracting geo. Different charms require different amounts of charm notches to equip. You can equip multiple charms at once, but only if their total cost does not exceed the notches you have. Made by MrGames07
