So there's this cool thing call the Rule of Thirds, where you divide your artwork into 9 equal sections and place important aspects of your art at the intersections of the lines or along them. As far as AMV's go, you'd try to do this mostly for the key frames, not the transition frames. When it comes to characters, you usually want to center the area between their eyes on the lines or at their intersections.
